godsey1 #1 Posted January 8, 2004 I have found a Game Boy Advance with the E-Card reader, light, rechargeable battery pack with the plug-in, 3 e-cards, Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, and power converter. How much should this be worth. I want one to go with my GameCube. Tony P.S. All of it is in great condition.
Mr.FoodMonster #2 Posted January 8, 2004 150-175 maybe?
godsey1 #3 Posted January 8, 2004 It's a lot less than that. I may just get. Thanks, Tony
Xot #4 Posted January 8, 2004 I assume it's the original GBA and not the SP? That setup would probably fetch around $100 IMO. It's worth maybe $150 new. Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $50 for it though. If you're gonna get a GBA you should go all the way and get the SP.
godsey1 #5 Posted January 8, 2004 I can get it for $75.00 plus the shipping. I waiting on them to tell me how much the shipping is. And yes it's the regular not the SP. Tony
chrisbid #6 Posted January 9, 2004 id say its worth it, even if you decide to upgrade to an SP later, the ereader and the games alone make the package worthwhile
JB #7 Posted January 9, 2004 Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $50 for it though. If you're gonna get a GBA you should go all the way and get the SP.WHY? The SP is way too small to be a decent game machine, and to be quite blunt the lighting issue on the original GBA is VASTLY exaggerated.

You won't think it is exaggerated when you play Circle of the Moon, one hell of a dark game on the original GBA. I had a nice tan when I had my regular GBA. godsey1 #9 Posted January 9, 2004 I went ahead and bought it. The people e-mailed me and said free shipping with BIN. I think it's a great deal, because I want to play some of the NES games but all of my systems(about 11 of them) are blinkers. With the E-Card Reader, they have a few of them. I am going to be looking for a Gameboy Player for the Cube next. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3070511543 Tony
cryptik76 #10 Posted January 10, 2004 The SP is way too small to be a decent game machine, and to be quite blunt the lighting issue on the original GBA is VASTLY exaggerated. What's VASTLY exaggerated about the original GBA is calling the screen "visible." If I were still using my original GBA, I'd probably be half-blind by now. I LOVE the compact size of the SP. And the lighting issue is quite significant. I can play the SP in the dark and even use it as a small flashlight in extreme instances (and I have!) Plus no need to continually buy batteries. Any time you want to see how an SP game would look on an original GBA, just turn the light off and see if, well, you can still see. You're right, especially with Castlevania: Circle of the Moon. The darkness of the title looks awesome on a SP (or a regular GBA with an Afterburner, I assume), but it's all but unplayable on a normal, unlit GBA. tantone56 #14 Posted January 11, 2004 get sp because its hard as hell to read the regular screens on the origional
godsey1 #15 Posted January 11, 2004 I'll see how this one does. If it is as bad as everyone says, I'll just get an SP. I hate to hear that the screen is that bad Tony
goatdan #16 Posted January 11, 2004 From having played both my cousin's Advance and SP, I will admit... I couldn't see anything with the Advance. I played through a variety of games including Tony Hawk and couldn't make out what was going on at all. I played the same games on the SP, and I realized how much better the games were. I have a Neo Geo Pocket and have ZERO problems seeing the screen. The screen on the GBA is horrendous. If it was decent, I would have one by now since there are a million good looking GBA games. Anywho, that is not a bad deal for the package, and I probably would've sprung for it if I had any money too

godsey1 #18 Posted January 11, 2004 I'll post back when I get it to let you know how I like it. I'll just be looking for an SP in the mean time. Tony
Avid Fan #19 Posted January 11, 2004 I have an floodlight attached to the wall in my room to play my GBA. But the afterburner will be mine in a week or so
godsey1 #20 Posted January 14, 2004 Hi again. I got this Gameboy stuff today and it's all in great condition. I have to addmitt that the screen is VERY dark . I'll be on the look out for an SP or the Gameboy player for the Game Cube to replace this one. This came with 4 E-Card reader card sets instead of 3 . Thanks for all the replies, Tony
Shannon #21 Posted January 15, 2004 hehe dark screen on the GBA actually discourage me from using it, and rayman advance is hard to see on it (it's one of the earlier releases). When I picked up an SP my gameplaying dramatically increased!!
cryptik76 #22 Posted January 16, 2004 When I picked up an SP my gameplaying dramatically increased!! I bought I think an average of a GBA game every month or so after getting my original GBA, but once I got the SP I think my GBA game buying tripled!
