Gabriel #1 Posted January 16, 2004 Has anyone else had e-mail communications problems with 4Jays Classic Video Games? I sent an e-mail on Saturday to place an order and get a confirmation number. By yesterday, I was still waiting for a response. Yesterday evening (Wednesday) I sent another e-mail politely asking for a confirmation or rejection of the order. Now it's Thursday after 4Jay's business hours have ended for the night. I've done a ebay transaction with them and had a pleasant experience. I was looking forward to ordering some 5200 games. oesii #2 Posted January 16, 2004 I have had email speed problems with them in the past, maybe 9 months ago? They were pretty slow to respond to emails but once we arranged the details and I sent payment for some ST accessories they shipped it right away and in great shape. Seems to me like a lot of Atari dealers are bad emailers, have to have patience or just give them a call, they seem to be from the old school of business

Good luck! When he actually *does* reply, dont be surprised when he doesn't have anything you want! I ordered several games over a year ago which he listed on his site as being in stock but he didn't really have. And those games are STILL listed there. I won't buy from him. Tempest #4 Posted January 16, 2004 They have nice stuff (I've bought off them several times), but those lists are almost a year old. I wonder why they never updated them? Tempest
Paul Slocum #5 Posted January 16, 2004 My understanding is that they only process their orders on Friday and Saturday. You can usually just call in your orders on those days. I've been happy in all my dealings with them. They have some pretty good deals. I just ordered a couple more of their awesome rebuildable C64 power supplies. -paul
Mayhem #6 Posted January 16, 2004 I would say definitely call. I've done a few deals with them in the past, and generally found it easiest to know what's going on over the phone.
Avid Fan #7 Posted January 16, 2004 4Jays is pretty fickle. I go there sometimes cause its right here in town. But unless Jay or the older guy is working, forget about it. There's this 18 year old clerk who will always try to over charge you, and he gives you a shit attitude. Except if my GF goes in there he's always trying to hit on her. The prick is so rude, that 2 years in a row I went on there with the intention of buying a 5200, and lots of goodies. But the prick is so rude, I just leave. F 4Jays. Its a shame too, since it is the best classic gaming shop in the area, tainted by some asshole teenage clerk
Gabriel #8 Posted January 18, 2004 Update. I had an answer by Friday evening. This was in response to my resending of the order on Wednesday. Today (Saturday), I confirmed the order and things seem to be rolling along smoothly. Apparently, my first e-mail disappeared. Anyway, things seem to be OK now and, hopefully, I'll have some new games soon.
