Just got a 800XL with disk drive !

Hi all,

 

I just won myself an Atari 800XL with 1050 Disk Drive from eBay !

 

It's been awhile since I've owned an Atari but am looking forward to the good old times again.

 

Does anyone know where the best place is to get games on disk ?

 

I'm in the UK so anywhere UK based would be best ...

I would say Ebay is a good start as you can find many games there....

Better way (read - much cheaper) is to buy a SIO2PC cable and look for some software on internet, then you can write on to discs whatever you want! You might want to contact the Cheshunt Computer Club, as well. I understand that they have a few 8-bitters left amongst their members, and I'm sure they could help you build up your FD library.

About the only comercial source i know for floppies (public domain software)

 

Other sources, E-bay is your best bet unless you know other Atari-8 bit users and can form a swap ring (like i have done with a fella i work with)
