Gabriel #1 Posted January 27, 2004 I have discovered that Space Dungeon rocks! If I had known the game was as cool as it is, I would have begged much harder for someone to buy it for me back in the day. What's a decent score? I got 178,000 or so during a quick game at lunch today.
NovaXpress #2 Posted January 27, 2004 You're doing good for a beginner, just watch out for the worst enemy in the game: When you enter a room, the door you came through will be flashing solid for a few seconds. if you die at this time, the door will remain solid. So if that was the only door to the room, you are trapped and the game is over. If you see that a room only has one door, be careful or avoid it althogether. Just kill or be killed and grab every treasure before leaving the dungeons. I can play this game until I get bored, scores in the tens of millions have been achieved but it takes a long time. These days I just fire it up now and then for 20 minutes of destruction.
Shaggy the Atarian #3 Posted January 28, 2004 I'm still dying to play Space Dungeon on my 5200, I just need that other stick...who was it here that sells new 5200 sticks?
+-^CrossBow^- #4 Posted January 28, 2004 No one sells new ones for a price the average layman can afford. But many of us can repair them for a small fee + shipping. Depends on the materials that have to be bought. I can usually fix mine with very minimal parts or materials having to be used. But then, mine are still pretty much just like the stock 5200 was when bought new. You can also look at several of the FAQs around here and buy replacment parts to rebuild your own. NovaXpress #5 Posted January 28, 2004 I have four original controllers and the buttons work on none of them although the sticks all work as well as they ever did (which wan't very . . . oh you know). I rely on the Wico for everything other than Space Dungeon/Robotron.
+-^CrossBow^- #6 Posted January 28, 2004 Nova...send those sticks my way...I might be able to make your life a bit better...
NovaXpress #7 Posted January 29, 2004 I may be hollerin at you soon, its getting time to really organize my systems and get everything patched up. I have a problematic 7800 that needs help as well.

NovaXpress #9 Posted January 29, 2004 It all started with Xevious, finally at home like I'd always hoped. Then the dreams began, the dreams of Mutants at Midnight and Towers that Topple. And with the exception of a few Tigervision carts, my 2600 dreams remains strong as well. The a little stepsister got hold of my stuff while I was away for a month and it all went to hell. jnice #10 Posted February 23, 2004 Hail to the Thief (who's "in view on level 2")... Yeah, this is a great game. I just got it not that long ago, and it's just tons of fun to blow everything up. A score of 178,000 to start, though? You're doing much better than I...it took me about three weeks of playing before I broke the 100,000 mark. Now that I have the coupler, is it worth buying Robotron?

A score of 178,000 to start, though? You're doing much better than I...it took me about three weeks of playing before I broke the 100,000 mark. Now that I have the coupler, is it worth buying Robotron? I like the 5200 version of Robotron. It doesn't look pretty, but it evokes the feel of the arcade game. The 7800 version is much better. I just like the 5200 version because its easier for me to keep 2 5200 controllers together in a McDonalds drink tray or something than it is to keep 2 7800 controllers stable. Most of the time with the 7800, I use two Genesis Arcade Fighter Stick SG-6s. That works better, but it's still hard to keep them from moving all over the place while I play. jnice #12 Posted February 23, 2004 I'm surprised that they never made a coupler for the 7800 sticks to use with this game. Then again, I had the impression of the 7800 looking a bit cheap as compared to the 5200 (black & white cartridge labels, simpler joysticks with no start/pause/reset buttons, etc), and especially compared to the NES and SMS. Atari was probably cutting corners on other 7800-related things, too, that I'm not aware of. Never had one of these!

While it doesn't fit like a glove, it will still hold the 7800 sticks in place relatively well.
