Elektro #1 Posted April 23, 2001 You guys got one heck of a site going... the companies page was an excellent idea. I can't believe you got all the Activision patches up! I also see that you emulated Colecovision.com's message board system. It's pretty cool, but it will be harder to see now when someone posts a new reply. Keep up the fine work! Guest #2 Posted April 23, 2001 Elektro - I'm sure we will be tweaking the message boards since this is a new version for us. If anyone has any comments about the way they'd like to see the boards formatted, we're all ears. Or examples of other UBB sites that you like. As for the company pages, I agree that is one of my favorite things about this site. It was very useful for me when I was working on other areas of the site, which is always a good sign. Albert #3 Posted April 23, 2001 quoteYou guys got one heck of a site going... the companies page was an excellent idea. Thanks! I have some improvements in mind for the Companies page that will make it even more useful (and interesting), but I'm not going to reveal them until I get them done.. quoteIt's pretty cool, but it will be harder to see now when someone posts a new reply. Yeah, since everything's not on one page it takes a little more work. However, there will probably be a much larger volume of messages since we're covering more than the 2600. It should be easier to see the active topics with this system, versus the old (and very simple) WWW script we were using on the Nexus. With that system, it was harder to track threads because they wouldn't come to the top when replies were posted. As Alex said, we'll probably be fine-tuning the message boards until we get 'em just right! ..Al

moycon #8 Posted December 14, 2002 I felt like doing one last dumbass thing before bed time.... so why not just bump! the oldest thread still working in the AA archives.... Haha I did the same thing. I did a search on Stan Jr. looking for threads he started but no one responded to. Bumped an old TG-16 up and it like quadrupled it's post count in 2 hours. I'm thinking no-one liked StanJr back then so they wouldn't respond to his posts.
Albert #9 Posted December 14, 2002 just out of curiosity... how much harddrive space does the whole forum take up? *smiles* Not including avatars and file attachments, a dump of the forum is about 200MB and zipped is 55MB. And it grows steadily in size with each passing day. ..Al

Albert #11 Posted December 14, 2002 Note: The forum size.... and much more, somewhat interesting info can be looked at, at any time by clicking on the Statistics link. Ahh, yes, I forgot about that. Note that the "Posts per day" is pretty inaccurate, as it takes the total number of posts since the board was started and divides it by the number of days the forum has been running. There are often 700+ posts a day, and two days ago this actually went over 1,000. I'm going to see if I can figure out a way to make it reflect the last 24 hours of activity, as that's a more interesting number in my opinion. ..Al
