YarsRevengeFan #6 Posted February 2, 2004 Try www.cyberroach.com Then click on the "Atari Jaguar Games" link on the left. At the top of the page they have a pretty extensive list of unreleased and protos as well.

CHR_AeON #9 Posted February 2, 2004 Does anyone have a proto of these? Did they actually start the games? Pitfall 2 Battlewheels Dino Dudes 2 River Raid Gotcha Automaniacs AVP 2 I doubt that any work on River Raid by Activision was ever started. Pitfall 2 was probably the same as "Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure". If Activision ever devided to do a "Pitfall 2" it would have come out for some other consoles. The only one which came out later was "Pitfall 3D" in 1998. And I don't think that Activision took this one in consideration for the Jag... Dino Dudes 2 - as far as I know Imagitec had an early demo of an action title up and running, which in the end didn't make into a full game. The only other Jaguar title which was announced by Imagitec was Freelancer... Concerning AVP2 there have been some hints and rumours here and there - could be that there's something out there. Could be an enhanced CD version, could be a demo of a second part. However, it's quite unlikely that someone will officially publish something based on the probalby extremely expensive license. Battlewheels and Gotcha - could be that some work has been started but I doubt that there was anything in a playable form. The same goes for Automaniacs. But in the end, who knows... Could be totally wrong on this (hope so )...

walter_J64bit #12 Posted February 3, 2004 I have one of them. lol what one would that be?
SteveW #13 Posted February 3, 2004 How many known prototypes are in existince right now? Cyberroach's page is loaded with games that were at least partially complete. There have to be more protos than what we know of out there. So - how many do each of you own?
CHR_AeON #14 Posted February 3, 2004 I have one of them. Hmm, I think I remember one of your posts which made it quite obvious, which one it is
Stone #15 Posted February 3, 2004 With regards numbers, I've got (quick count) 15 Jag programs which I would consider protos. Of those: 2 are homebrewers' projects which were never released 9 are unfinished versions of games that were later released 3 are unfinished versions of games that weren't released 1 is a completed, unreleased game. And I've also got a couple of corrupted Alpine dumps which I've not been able to salvage - need to look through these sometime for surviving text strings and graphics. Not too shabby Stone
jaysmith2000 #16 Posted February 3, 2004 If we're including betas of released games, the number is pretty significant. I would guess, at this point, upwards of 100.... If you're only looking for unreleased, non-homebrew games it's closer to 15-20.... There are MANY games that are not listed on Cyberoach, however for unreleased games he has, by far, the best list. CHR_AeON #17 Posted February 3, 2004 If you're only looking for unreleased, non-homebrew games it's closer to 15-20.... Have you every considered trying to get the rights to publish some of them!? I know the story behind RR and that the upcoming packs probably will include one or more surprises, but what about the rest ?

I always share the information...have you looked at my web-site????? Every proto I have is on there except my most recent acquisitions...I do have a couple protos that I've been asked to keep to "myself", so out of respect for the individual that gave them to me, I do that. End of story.

Every proto I have is on there except my most recent acquisitions...I do have a couple protos that I've been asked to keep to "myself", so out of respect for the individual that gave them to me, I do that. End of story. I have to back Jay up on this one. I've been in similar situations myself (and received a fair bit of criticism about it from certain people). Most of us prototype collectors love to talk about our latest finds (where's the fun in keeping it all to yourself?), but sometimes that's just not possible. I'm assuming anything that he is keeping secret is being done so for a good reason (you'd be surprised at the reasons ex-programmers want some things kept secret). Giving him a hard time about it won't do any good because he isn't the reason behind the secrecy. Oh and before you ask, I have absolutely no idea what the "big secret" is. Sadly when you're asked to keep something a secret that means from other proto collectors as well. Tempest
