I know there are some of you who do not like this game.

but this topic will be for those that do.

I have been a fan of golvellius for years now and just got the golvellius 2 disc image for msx

 

It is very interesting so far. Besides all the jap subtitles

If anyone else loves this game or needs help with it let me know.

also if anyone wants to try to work through this version of the game with me that would be cool too.

 

I bought the sms version when it was released, and loved it.

Just want to get any fans of the game, interested in talking about it,

in one place.

 

Post any info on the game, ads, walkthroughs and such here sort of as a reference.

I was obsessed with Golvellius when I got it. 'Course this was the late 80's? I forgot most everything about the game by now.. except it was a sidescroller at first where you couldn't face the character the other way.. then it was an overhead adventure. I remember liking it very much then. I wonder how well I would think it aged if I tried it out now again...

 

I do remember checking out an old EGM magazine recently with a full page review of Golvellius.. maybe I'll scan it for ya

Yes it can happen if you enter the cheat code on the master system version.

Hate it when that happens. Not sure if that happens on all cheats

entered though.

I still need to pick up a copy of this game. I am really wanting to try it out and see what I have been missing. Most reports I have heard is that it is an excellent Zelda clone for the SMS. I can handle that!!!

Don't be put off by the play in the beginning though.. I'm sure it will seem "weird" to you... because it is!

$6 is not to bad since Golvellius isn't really rare. Just hard to find because they are somewhat popular. I also have a map of the entire area (I can't remember where I found it though) and even compressed, it's a tad over 700K so I won't attach it to this post. email or PM me if you want it.

 

If you like Zelda game and find Golvellius enjoyable, you might want to try out Golden Axe Warrior (also for SMS). It's so different from Golden Axe and looks almost like a blatant Zelda ripoff.

I actually do have Golden Axe Warrior for my GG. I like it but have to use my game genie on it since I can't seem to get the timings down to defeat most of the baddies in that game (Skeleton warriors SUCK!!).

 

I need to pick my GG backup and finally finish that ones of these days.

I am now on my way to getting the 4th crystal on golvellius 2 on MSX

This game is a little harder, but the quick save and turbo fire really

help the boss stages

 

I just learned about screenshots so maybe ill put a map together too

It is quite large though but ill put some time into it when i complete this game

 

I am gonna need the end translated so i know how this story really ends.

I have not beat Govellius yet, if I ever will. But the game reminds me of another Compile game, somewhat better known and released around the same time. I like to think of it as The Guardian Legend for the SMS.
