PeeknPoke
..if no rom is available and there seems to be only one proto-cart lurking around..how come it get a mention for an easter egg find here at http://www.digitpress.com/eastereggs/26ewo...okadventure.htm Seems like there might be a rom about? Tempest
The programmer told the DP about it. Whoever owns this proto is keeping it quite. I don't blame him(her?) though, if their name got out you whould have everyone and their momma e-mailing him to release the rom. I just hope it's been dumped for back-up purposes, I'd hate to think the whole program cold be lost due to one little static electricity spark. Scott Stilphen
Larry Gelberg (the programmer) wrote to Tim/2600 Connection way back in issue #40 and mentioned some facts about the game - one being the Easter egg revealing his initials.
newcleus
Well about six months ago a PAL prototype of the game was found in england and sold on ebay.
frax
The proto that showed up in England was never sold on eBay, it was sold to a European collector.
Tempest
I saw that one in a picture, too bad it never got to ebay (liek the 2600 Crack'ed proto ). That accounts for the PAL version that's known to exist but what about the NTSC copy? Tempest
Guest
AFAIK, the original NTSC owner does not wish to sell it. His father's friend worked at Atari or some such thing, and that is how he acquired it. He is not a collector or really even an Atari fan, but is content to just keep it himeself. That is, unless the situation has changed. As for the PAL copy, can anyone really confirm this? I saw it on Ebay too, but there have certainly been enough hoaxes on Ebay to not believe it even if I have seen it. Who has it now, anyone reputable? Is it a full, playable version? newcleus
I emailed the seller a long time ago and he said the buyer wished to remain anonymous and that he had payed a lot of money for it. He wouldn't tell me how much, but did say he planned on making the rom available. I geuss the buyer never did .
