Re-used sprites

Recommended Posts

Did you ever notice that Activision re-used sprites from one game in another?

The peeps in Ghostbusters resemble Pitfall Harry quite much - they have one leg less and the backpack for their beams, but else they look pretty much the same.

But it's nothing to wonder - both games were done by David Crane.

:D

Sorry for laughing... but how many different - men like - Sprites can be created at a resolution of "160*192" when you need to make it very small and you still have one bit for the colour around?

Looks like the Ghostbuster has a bigger booty.

Um...not that I noticed it specifically :ponder:

Actually they do look rather different. If you want to see some serious Pitfall Harry sprite reuse check out Decathlon, Rabbit Transit, and Robot Rubble (Intellivision). Oh and Pitfall II of course.

Harry certainly gets around.

Pitfall Harry sure got around for a guy with one leg shorter than the other....and an arm coming out of his mid-section.

And Nukey, you're right about that big blocky booty. 8)

That's an arm? I always thought that it was a leg ;)

He's excited to be on the adventure...that much we know.
