Tempest #1 Posted May 23, 2001 I just got my Rescue Terra I cart in the mail today (almost mint condition), I'm happy because I got a good deal on it because it sticker on the label (easily removed). So I decided to just plug it in and play it to see what it's like (I'm a big fan of Laser Gates). It's not a bad game, just a little repetative. After 100+ waves of asteroids and ships you need a break to rest your aching hand, but you never get one. There's just not enough variety to keep it interesting for long. On my first run through I got a high score of 144,325 and had a distance to go of 21,489 (not too shabby). Does this game have an end? The distance meter changes so slowly, I'd have to play for another 30 mintues to get to 0 (assuming I could last that long). Maybe if I cheat and use an emulator so I could take a break no and then... Tempest
Tempest #2 Posted May 24, 2001 I tried this game again last night and I almost got throught the pirates (those little flying saucers are hard!). This game is freakin' nuts! I can't believe anyone has ever beaten this thing (although I do like a game with an ending). I played the other waves for fun, and they weren't that bad. The fish force fields look hard but I developed a pattern that made them much easier. Hopefully I'll be able to get there one day... Fish Force Fields? What the heck were these guys smoking? Tempest #6 Posted June 17, 2011 I want to say around $100 is the right price now. I *think* I paid around $75 for mine back then. Tempest
the.golden.ax #7 Posted June 17, 2011 Rise from your gwave! This is a title that I've A) wanted for a very long time but hadn't found the right deal and B) requires a pause button AX
mtshark7 #8 Posted June 17, 2011 Ok awesome thanks! I'll see if my friend can find me one for around that price. I'm doing my 2600 collecting backwards...I'm trying to get the rare games first then go with the common ones.
