I know things are rough for you right now. If you sell some more stuff on eBay you might want to require an automatic payment if the buy it now is used. That will help to cut back on deadbeats.

BUT!! You should understand about Canadian bidders cannot use automatic payment , beacuse only US bidders! That is why Kepone wanted to shipped both US and Canada.

I usually try to send a personal message of some kind if I am doubtful. Some people look past emails sent by ebay.

Got an email from the buyer claiming that it might take a week before he is confirmed for Paypal. He probably just signed up with Paypal and hasn't been confirmed.

 

I'm not happy about that. I stated clearly that I would accept Paypal. If the guy didn't already have Paypal, then he should have not bid.

 

I apologize for sounding like an ass but I don't exactly want to wait ANOTHER week just to pay bills. That's all it's been this past month. Waiting for nothing. Waiting for unemployment to clear up. Arghh!

It only takes one person who is willing to pay the buy it now price and you have a sale. I always put a buy it now on everything that I sell.

Hopefully the buyer comes through before the end of this week. I gave them 7 days to pay up but I might have to just wait.

 

I'm going to Bidiots next time I have something to sell. EBay is just too damn risky right now. Too many idiots who don't read up on the terms of bidding.

Actually in this case I'd side with the buyer.

 

If he's not sure he wants to sign up with PayPal then obviously he will wait till he's won the auction... he probably didn't know that PayPal may take a while (though I don't know why it does, it took hardly any time for me, but YMMV)....

 

Most people say payment within 10 days, which I think is fair, and he's said he should be within that - if you need payment in a shorter period of time it should be stated in the auction.

 

Personally, I'd be happy - with this buyer you may have to wait a few more days but you got possible twice what it would've sold for anyway!
