Defective Jaguar?

Recommended Posts

All right, here we go: with a slight 10 year delay, I finally got my first own Jaguar. Just to play AvP - a game that freaked me out when I played it at first.

:D Now, I hooked up the Jag to my TV, using an antenna-Jag splitter.

1) I can only insert modules, when my Jag is switched off?

2) Game inserted, Jaguar roars, see the BLACK background with the RED writing. Seconds later, I see a RED background with RED writing on it, that is framed with a thin black line. Is this normal? I can't remeber that from earlier days.

3) Nothing happens. How long does it take to load the game?

4) If I move the Cartridge forth and back, the Jag tends go go on and off. (slack joint ? just old??)

Yes, insert them only, when the Jag is powered off!

If the red background pops up, there´s something wrong with you Jag. Normaly it´s simply dust/ dirt in the cart or in the Jag´s cart-slot. Give them both a good cleansing and it should work.

hmmm.... two seconds

urg, don´t do this, the Jag will only work with a cart put in, don´t move the cart while the jag is powered on.

Cool Forum - and I am still mourning that ATARI Hardware has gone.
