I have Robinson's Requiem on CD. I recently sold a copy and signed a contract not to distribute it with a reputable Jaguar enthusiast. His intentions are to publish the game in the near future if he can secure rights to the game. Hopefully it'll happen, the game is awesome and COMPLETE. :)

No freakin way Jason! One of the coolest games I have played - besides Dungeon Master....

Hm, ok, if this game is available for purchase, than I would buy it.

:) If that would never happen, than, I hope you don't mind sharing>

keep me posted please...

I got the chance to play it at the Austin Game Expo, and the game looks pretty good. It's not my kind of game, but i'd still buy one if it were made available.

Here's a quick picture of it from A.G.E.

Clint also put some video footage in the January issue of Atarivision. I'll try to find the link.... :) Clint, you got it handy?

yea, I found the link yesterday

http://atarivision.jaguarhq.net/

But they stopped showing the game right after the intro...

Hmm, but what I have seen is, that it was actually not that fast of a gameplay.

I did play this game on a PC (RISC PC with PI 100 Mhz PC card) and it was nice and fast and playable. And of course I tryed to play it on a F030 (as a matter of fact, I played it there first). But it was so rediculously slow. The portation from PC to 68030 was not that great, and none of the F030 features (DSP, MathCoChip) have been used. Maybe the Jag conversion was not that great either?

How is the gameplay on the Jag?

The framerate is actually pretty good. Around the speed of AvP. Not great, but not bad either. There are many levels in the game. I've gotten through the caves and into where the T-rex is. He keeps wasting me. I need to get back into it someday soon. As far as I know this is the most complete unreleased game out there. I was hoping to release it on my own, but after over a year of trying to secure rights I gave up and sold it to someone that is in a better position to do that. The company that made it, Simarils, is in bankruptcy in France. Therefore, the creditors own the rights and it makes it difficult to lock that down. However, progress seems to have been made. I really want to see this game in every Jaguar collector's hands. :D

Why the heck do all the good companies out there go into bankruptcy??

So, I think the actual framerate in AvP is better. At least the framerate in RR seems to be lower from what I have seen on the video (see link above). But, hey, you played it, right ;)

Yeah, that was probably the best example I had. It may have been the player more than the framerate. :) It's still a very worthwhile title for the community, lets hope it becomes a reality for everyone.

Now if only I could get some footage of that cave and stuff for the next AtariVision , Jason ;) :P

I thought it played smoothly. Although without instructions, I had no idea what to do, and I wandered into a cave area and got lost. But the game worked well. Although I noticed that I could walk through trees.

It does have some small nuances to it. The cave only works once you've created a torch or you're pretty much screwed. It follows verbatim to the other releases, so if you're familiar with those you can cruise pretty quickly to the higher levels. Some of the graphics are quite stunning, the Tiger and the T-rex look pretty sweet. That pesky Eagle drives me nuts though!

I've never had the opportunity to play Robinson's Requiem on any other platform. Was it available for the Mac? I have a copy of Ishar 3 for the Mac by Silmarils.

SHUTUP! SHUTUP! SHUTUP!!! :P All this talk about playing RR is driving me NUTS!!! Especially JaySmith2000 talking about the Jag version! I've wanted to play this game ever since I heard about it for the Jaguar way back when. I want to experience it first on the jaguar though, and am still holding out for that hope. I have a 3DO, Mac and PC, so I could have played the game by now, but I first learned about it through the Jaguar and if there is the slightest hope of it ever coming out on the Jag, I want the entire experience to be new. :D

Well said, I'll keep my mouth shut about it. I definitely think holding out will be worth it. It sounds like some real progress is being made in bringing this title to the people....
