My new store displays & ebay auctions

Recommended Posts

I just got some very cool new toys for my store this weekend. Xbox, PS2 and Gamecube official store displays. The ps2 one was on ebay and I contacted the seller and he said he had all three :D . I made him a great deal on all 3. Rented a big van and drove about 800 miles round trip to indiana on sunday and got them. We also hit some stores in Indy and got some great stuff.

Im a little broke after this weeks spending "river patrol boxed" so i have put up about 100 boxed atari games on ebay. Thanks for looking

That looks killer.

Out of curiosity does each manufacturer give those away for free near launch? Or does the store have to pay to bring them in? I've always wondered that.

Dunno how it works for mom 'n pop shops, but larger chains are paid for the shelf/floor/endcap space -- they essentially rent the space from the store. Reps come by from time to time to make sure they're given ample visibility and accessability -- and of course to drop off signage, promo material, and check sales and stock levels, et al. It's funny to watch them try and finagle extra signage space to outdo their competition...
