Missile Command - no "RF" in game 13?

Supposedly a version was made without Rob Fulop's initials. Has anyone discovered one of these? Last year, I obtained a cart with the 1986 copyright, but it did have the initials. Just curious...

I was a first owner of the Sears version of Atari.

 

I collected many (26) cartridges.

 

I need to ask.. . where are the initials you ask about? Are you talking about the cartridge having some letters on it?

Oh, by the way, my friends and I maxed out the Missle game in about 30 hours, by moving off the joystick, and handing it off.. we maxed the game out back in 1979. Then took it back to the store for the Dragster EA game!

Every cart ever found has the initials. Atari did ask Fulop where they were hidden so that they could be removed, but apparently it wasn't worth the effort. No easter egg was ever removed by Atari because they turned out to be a nice marketing tool.

 

If you score zero points on Game 13 one of the cities turns into an RF.

I recall that you CAN have a score on game 13 and still get the initials. I remember one time unleasing my missiles and one of them accidentilly hit something, but the RF came up anyway......

So you can just turn it on game 13 and leave and it will show up?

I've never known it to appear if you score so much as 10 points. You may have to fire missiles at the air to ensure a zero score.

IIRC your score has to be below 100 points.
