wrldstrman #1 Posted February 27, 2004 With winter and no yard sales or flea markets I decided to hang up some adds in the local super markets.I had about 20 calls 6 said they had an atari and games and said they would get back with me.(never heard from them again).Went to look at 4 or 5 of the people that called stuff but they wanted way to much for very common games...2 called and said they had an atari and some games but didnt know where and finally about 8 people who called I went and looked at what they had and ended up with 8 woodgrain systems.about a dozen power supplies and paddles 2 dozen joysticks.a boxed 5200 with 5 games..2 7800 systems 2 2600 jrs one intellivision with 20 games 1intellivision 2 and around 400, 2600 games piece o cake being the rarest game. Most of the stuff was covered in dirt and dust from being in attics and basements but only about a dozen carts didnt work but only 4 of the 2600 consoles worked.Still holding out for a forgotton copy of air raid...Other then one guy who insisted pac man was worth its weight in gold most were glad to see there oldstuff go to someone who still enjoyed it. One guy I actually invited over to see my collection. So the stuff is out there just got to find ways of locating it. Our local garbage man still finds the old systems thrown in the trash.Anyway happy hunting
stayrunner #2 Posted March 1, 2004 That was a great idea! I think I'll try that. How much did you pay for the different systems and games?
adams_ale #3 Posted March 1, 2004 Yes indeed, that is an excellent idea!! I think I will be trying that as well. Most stores don't let you put up solicitations, but I guess there is always the telephone pole if anybody still reads those.
