Mr.FoodMonster #1 Posted February 27, 2004 Today, on my last trip to Gamestop (probably ever) I picked up a Genesis Mouse. It was only $1, so I figured what the hell. I found out that only 2 games actually use it, but NOT what the games are. So, what are they? And how much do they run for?
Lemmi #2 Posted February 27, 2004 Sega Clubs Wacky Worlds Creativity Studio uses it
+-^CrossBow^- #3 Posted February 27, 2004 One of them is the Sonic and Tales paint program thing. Basically just like the SNES Mario Paint...but with Sonic and Tales. The other escapes me, but I also know that Snatcher for the Sega CD and I believe a few other Sega CD games could use the Mouse.
sku_u #4 Posted February 27, 2004 While on the subject of mouses, what games utilize the DC mouse? I picked one up the other day and I'm deciding whether or not there's an actual use for it.

Lemmi #6 Posted February 27, 2004 but I also know that Snatcher for the Sega CD and I believe a few other Sega CD games could use the Mouse. Dungeon Master 2 also can use the mouse
+-^CrossBow^- #7 Posted February 27, 2004 That was the Sonic and Tales Paint thingie I was talking about. I couldn't remember the name of it and since the name Wacky Worlds Creativity Studio is soo far from the Sonic and Tales characters names that are depicted on the box I guess their marketing worked. I remembered that Tales and Sonic were all over it...but couldn't remember the name. Maybe it only half worked...

Mr.FoodMonster #9 Posted February 28, 2004 Well, there is a lot of 8 sealed Mice with the pads on ebay right now, so I feel a tad stupid for buying it =P
SS #10 Posted February 28, 2004 The American Laser shooters for the SegaCD can utilize the mouse as a substitute for a light gun.
christianscott27 #11 Posted February 28, 2004 i think you can use on some of those genesis battle sims, like american revolution one and those koei games, although i could be thinking of the SNES.
SteveW #12 Posted February 28, 2004 I thought about buying one of these when they were being discontinued, because I was hoping it would be compatible with my Amiga. But I never got one because I wasn't sure.
chairmonkey4406 #13 Posted February 28, 2004 also, while we're on the subject of mice, what games use it for the SNES besides Utopia and Mario Paint?
sigma #14 Posted February 29, 2004 Mario & Wario is a good one.
Markimus of K. #15 Posted February 29, 2004 Just so no disinformation it being spread, Snatcher does not work with the mouse. It also does not work with the Justifier gun, I've just tried them both and no luck. And I've tried it with the Justifier since 1994 so don't tell me it is a recent thing. Great concept, poor execution.
+-^CrossBow^- #16 Posted February 29, 2004 M of K: I wasn't sure about the mouse working with Snatcher. But I thought I had read that somewhere once fairly reliably. As for the justifier, I have a friend who has said he got it to work and was only able to beat the game by using the lightgun. I got all the way up to the last part main battle of the game and simply couldn't get past all the robots at the end. I only had a standard Genesis controller so perhaps that was part of the problem. Good to know about the mouse though, that was a misunderstaning on my part.

From what I heard in a Sega-oriented console magazine, Wacky Worlds was HARDLY a Mario Paint clone, which was why I didn't bother getting it, although the Sega Mega Mouse moves like a dream and both Nintendo's own produced SNES mouse and the SNES-compatible Champ Mouse both blew it as far as accurate control went. Bratwurst #18 Posted March 1, 2004 Can you use the Genesis Mouse with Risk?
Adrian M #19 Posted March 1, 2004 If I'm not mistaken, you could use the mouse on those early Sega CD "Make your own music video" games.
Atariman #20 Posted March 2, 2004 I believe that the mouse also works on 'Eye of the Beholder' for the SegaCD, too
Raijin Z #21 Posted March 10, 2004 The internet told me Art Alive was mouse compatible. The internet is a lying whore.
Bratwurst #22 Posted March 10, 2004 I have since learned that Risk does not work with the Mega Mouse, and Raijin Z continues to have a potty mouth.
Raijin Z #23 Posted March 10, 2004 Atari Age hasn't changed, but maybe it's gotten worse. Or maybe it's always been like this, and my extended leave of absense only made it seem worse when I came back, like a dead end job after a three day weekend. Since when is the word WHORE considered profane? Stop starting crap with me, please, and everything will run smoothly.
