DeV0 #1 Posted March 1, 2004 Just got this one recently, Damn its a hard game. Anypne have any idea on how to continue? Or at least make it a bit easier? +-^CrossBow^- #3 Posted March 1, 2004 Also...I have a nice tip that seems to work really well. I don't know what is up with the AI in this game. But I have found that on the larger bosses...like Abobos and even the Shadow Boss at the end will all fall for this. What you do is get to the opposite side of the screen from the enemy. Then fairly quickly wiggle the joystick up and down. The bosses will follow your movements as they walk towards you. But when they get to just before halfway across the screen..they will lockonto one line they want to walk towards you on. You can then use this to your advantage by going beneath them or above them, and then coming up on them with a good Elbow punch or reverse jump kick. Works about every time for me. joshua #4 Posted March 1, 2004 no kiddie nes stuff here, you're on the PRO system continues aren't an option. reverse kicks definetly should be used often in this version, and you can put the computer into a zombie like mode by holding up at the top of the screen and your opponet will walk towards you but not make an attempt to strike you, at which point you can strike them with a regular jump kick and continue holding up to keep them in the zombie mode, ocassionaly they will cease to move in this mode and all you have to do is tap up on the joypad and they will fall back "under the spell" and continue the pattern of mindlessly moving toward you. however this technique uses up quite a bit of time so you should only use it on bosses. DracIsBack #5 Posted March 1, 2004 LOL. As others have noted, once you master the REVERSE JUMP KICK, the HEAD BUTT and the ELBOW JAB, you can virtually walk through 7800 DD. Also - you can get over the bridge in level 3 by walking behind it. I wish someone out there would make a better version of DD than what Imagineering put together. DracIsBack #8 Posted March 3, 2004 The trick with Double Dragon on the 7800 is that trading regular punches and kicks won't work the way it does on other systems. Still, once you master the reverse jump kick, elbow jab and head butt, it's quite easy - especially when you start to realize all the sloppy little AI quirks that Imagineering didn't catch. One of my favorite "stupid computer" strategies is to manouver the Abobos next to the wall on level 5 and start doing timed elbow jabs. :-) They don't stand a chance. My KINGDOM for a DD on the 7800 done by the likes of Ken (ALIEN BRIGADE) Grant, Radioactive (MIDNIGHT MUTANTS) software, Blue (SCRAPYARD DOG, XENOPHOBE, KLAX) SKY sofware, or Sculptured (COMMANDO) Software.
