chrisbid #1 Posted March 1, 2004 i just tried my copy of tower toppler today, and there is a major problem, when i start the game, i get the first tower intro, the guy gets out of the ship, and then suddenly the second stage intro pops up, and this just keeps going. Ive tried using a few different joysticks and still no luck. were there a bad batch of games out there? the cart and contacts are super clean, so thats not the issue... seems like a halfway decent game too
Tempest #2 Posted March 1, 2004 It's the difficulty switches. Move one of the them left or right (I forget which). You've accidentally triggered the secret level select mode. Tempest
chrisbid #3 Posted March 1, 2004 thank you, what a crazy easter egg
SteveW #4 Posted March 1, 2004 That happened to me too the first time. I didn't figure out that it was a level select until years later. That game needs a level select, because i've only completed the first two towers without it.
Bakasama #5 Posted March 1, 2004 What's even more crazy, if you fool around with the switches enough, you can get unlimited lives.
Classic Pac #6 Posted March 9, 2004 Heres another crazy easter egg I discovered. Use the stage select trick to go to level 1. Once there complete level and you'll get a congratulations message.

moycon #8 Posted March 10, 2004 Remember back when "crazy" actually meant something? That's sucky news, you mean crazy no longer has a meaning? Does this mean we can no longer use the term? When did all this happen anyways? I've never heard of words losing meaning altogether.... Surely this is a first. WHY DON'T PEOPLE SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE!???? +uosipa llamxew #9 Posted March 11, 2004 That game needs a level select, because i've only completed the first two towers without it. My biggest problem has been running out of time before I finish each level. So now and then I dig out my game genie and practice on the NES version with an unlimited time code. It's still difficult to climb those towers, but without a time limit, you won't be nearly as frustrated when you get bumped off a ledge or something... and you'll learn where to move and when - then you won't lose a ton of time when you're playing the regular way. This is a great game... one of my favorites! :-)
Shaggy the Atarian #10 Posted March 11, 2004 I've been trying to play through TT but I can never get very far on Tower 4. I always get stuck on the second floor up, but now that I know about the level select, I'll be able to try out level 4 a little more often
