DP Site issue

Hi. Not sure if this is the right place to post this.

 

Is anyone else having trouble getting digitpress.com today? It appears as if the site is down - is this routine or is there a major problem? -anyone have any info? (gotta check my messages)

Yeah, it's still down since about 2am CST... I was right in the middle of reading, and about to post when it went down. Hope it comes back soon.

 

Any idea why their site seems so frail? I mean, even when it's up, it's certainly a lot slower than AtariAge. Are they getting a huge amount of traffic, or do they just have poor hosting or something?

It's just a totally different setup. The Al's are website wizards so they know how to keep AA running efficiently. I don't know who handles the DP site.

Apache died but the database and the rest of the site is OK.

The DP server is in the one guy's house, I don't remember which one. So they don't really have a host, other then themselves.

 

 

DP generates alot of traffic, due to their room of doom galleries, their forum, and the like.

That explains alot. I'm surprised they haven't upgraded to a professional service of some type.
