candiru #1 Posted March 10, 2004 I don't have a large NES or Genesis collection and I'm not super familiar with the systems' libraries. Except for Atari I'm pretty selective about what games I buy. So what are some of the good lightgun games I should be on the lookout for and which ones are the stinkers? Thanks!
Gabriel #2 Posted March 10, 2004 Wild Gunman is the best NES lightgun game. Set it on "Gang" and blast away.
sku_u #3 Posted March 10, 2004 Duck Hunt is a great lightgun game for the NES and you can probably get a duckhunt/SMB cart for about a quarter.
Bratwurst #4 Posted March 10, 2004 Barker Bill's Trick Shooting is pretty fun for the NES. Throws in a little more variety than Duck Hunt although the skeet shooting in Duck Hunt is strangely addicting. I haven't tried the SNES or Genesis ports but I really liked the Terminator 2 gun arcade game.
Duke 4ever #5 Posted March 10, 2004 Hogans alley for NES. Nuff said.
Outlaw X #6 Posted March 10, 2004 Yeah, Duck Hunt is the way to go for fun NES light gun games. I haven't played Wild Gunman in a long time, hmmm...I may make a trip down to the GameStop store today If you happen across a Sega Master System with the phaser gun, try to find Safari Hunt..it actually came built into the first wave of the SMS machines along with Hang-On, but it's a great light gun game too..a lot like Duck Hunt but with more animals and more background scenes. The Historian #7 Posted March 10, 2004 Gotcha! the paint ball game.. Combo of Controller and Lightgun... makes for fun play... and I think that just about rounds out the light gun games for NES...
Dones #8 Posted March 10, 2004 I can tell you one to avoid: "To The Earth". The premise is cool but the execution is bad. The enemies fly so fast onscreen it's impossible to hit them, even when played with a mouse on a emulator!
