Draikar #1 Posted March 14, 2004 Every time I buy a lot of Atari games I get dumped with a few Pac-Man and Combat game cartridges so I decided to save them and see how many I can accumulate, I know this is kinda stupid.
Mindfield #2 Posted March 14, 2004 Given a year or so, you should have enough to build a shed.
CPUWIZ #3 Posted March 14, 2004 Given a year or so, you should have enough to build a shed. Unless you use save them for something more useful, like homebrews and sell them to AtariAge.
Mindfield #4 Posted March 14, 2004 Or make some shelving units out of them to house your real carts.
ATARI TROLL #5 Posted March 14, 2004 ::PLUG:: you could also save or donate the 01 Combats ensuring that the spirit of the Combat Cannonball Run lives on! Everytime the traveling cart goes missing in action or deceased there is always another to take the 01s place. http://www.angelfire.com/crazy2/combatcannoballrun/ COMBAT CANNONBALL RUN anyone?? http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=514776 You don't have to donate, but you could add your name to the list. NovaXpress #6 Posted March 14, 2004 I'm thinking we should make it a mission to collect those all-too-common carts so that AA never comes close to running out. Think about it kids: we'll still be wanting new homebrews ten years from now and cart shells won't be so easy to find.
Whisper #7 Posted March 14, 2004 *Is very ashamed that he has 20 games and not Pac-man or Combat*
Nukey Shay #8 Posted March 14, 2004 See that? They're getting rarer already! Perhaps in a couple years, new homebrews will have bumped those two to a
Vic George 2K3 #9 Posted March 14, 2004 I could probably care less if all the copies of Pac-Man or Combat fell off the face of the earth.
Nukey Shay #10 Posted March 14, 2004 That's not a very nice thing to say about a freebie pack-in cart. They really didn't HAVE to give you anything Plus all of those loose copies would eventually fall into the aliens' hands eventually...floating around out there. Do you want them to nuke us for proof of being technologically ignorant?
Vic George 2K3 #11 Posted March 14, 2004 That's not a very nice thing to say about a freebie pack-in cart. They really didn't HAVE to give you anything Considering that cartridge prices were going down by 1983, a no-cartridge 2600 package would have been a blessing. Not saying that Combat wasn't fun, though it does require a second human player to make it fun or even playable as a game. Pac-Man, I only found fun until Ms. Pac-Man was released for the 2600. Just personally saying there are better uses for the plastic cases that were used on those games.
Nukey Shay #12 Posted March 14, 2004 Bull. They have many practical uses. Using as an ice-scraper in fridgid weather for example... (runs outside) See?Ouch. This sucks... Um...or how about drink coasters? You set a cup on it and... Damn. Okaaay.... How about a child's building block set? Kids used to love these! Alright already! They aren't very useful!
