Draikar #1 Posted March 16, 2004 What's better or more rare a Sears Telegames Heavy Sixer or Atari Heavy Sixer ?
Mindfield #2 Posted March 16, 2004 They're about equal in rarity and desirability, considering they were both released at the same time and in similar quantities from the same production line in Sunnyvale. Finding a set with first-year joysticks with the discs still atop them however, now that's rare.
povlok1 #3 Posted March 16, 2004 my personal observance on this,, Tele is rarer.. but for some reason worth less,, tad less desirable.. thats what I've seen anyway
bjk7382 #4 Posted March 16, 2004 I never liked the look of the tele games system. I have an Atari heavy six but it is just a loose system without the first year sticks.
ATARIPITBULL #5 Posted March 16, 2004 Atari is the King daddy for ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ATARI TROLL #6 Posted March 17, 2004 lets just say as long as you own either you are lucky and as long as your proud to play it and enjoy it, whats the difference. Course we all want the Atari.......can't lie Cheers
curtishart #7 Posted March 17, 2004 I think it depends on how common a Sear store was in your area. Around here (Suburb of Dallas and Ft Worth) Sears was probably a dominant store back in the 70's so almost everyone had a Tele-Games in their home growing up (Including your's truly) but as for desireability of one over the other - the only value I can see of a Sears Tele-Games system over an Atari are those wanting it for nostalgia of growing up for one. I would think an actual Atari system would be more desireable due to the name recognition value. ...my two bits.
AtariDude #8 Posted March 17, 2004 You can always play it safe and get both if you can afford to. Myself I would lean to the Atari system but it would be cool just to have all the different 2600 systems like the Gemini and a few others.
