Problems with paypal

Recommended Posts

Because of some guy, my paypal account is now limited and I cannot use it anymore.

This is extremely bad, because what annoys me the most is that this guy does not react to emails although he has 100% positive feedback on ebay.

Here is the story :

I had several auctions in december 2003, ending dec 3rd.This guy bid for 3 games for $18 + $14 shipping (this is overseas). He paid and the package was sent before Christmas - but it takes 6 weeks to arrive since extra air mail is ridiculously expensive, nobody pays twice or 3 times the shipping for air mail.

After 30 days , the guy filed a complaint at paypal for non-delivery, although overseas packages take at least 6 weeks, especially druing Christmas time.I sent proof of sending, but got first reaction after 4 emails ! He wanted the money back, but I told him to wait a few days, since it takes 6 weeks - no reaction.

All the other packages I sent early december arrived, no problems at all.But this guy NEVER mailed back. But he did not give negative feedback either.

The problem is that I send with German Post and they have no online tracking for non-business senders.Means paypal does not accept my proof of sending.

I think 100% that this guy wanted to get the games for free, since I told him that German Post has no online tracking. He must have received the package, I´m 100% sure or he would have left negative feedback.

He does not react to emails anymore.

I had no money left on the paypal account, since I had to clear it for 2003 because of taxial reasons. So he got only $0.11 back.

But I cannot use paypal anymore and I don´t want to pay someone like this guy who does not react to polite emails, but is still active on ebay.

So what can I do ? Only allow payment with money orders and checks ?

Or make a new paypal account ?

Paypal seems to be worthless when German Post has no online tracking - UPS and others are far too expensive and nobody would pay for their shipping.

I don´t want to mention the name of the guy in an open forum, but you can email me for more information.

first.. please mention the dudes name.. he has it coming to be on mine and several others block list..

second.. sure open a new paypal account.. actually open two.. use one for payments.. as soon as you get it, use your debt card to pull it out or if its a must.. transfer it to the other paypal account, will cost you a bit tho.. I try taking mine out cash everyday.. that way if paypal locks your account.. just start a new one.. Paypal wants to play dirty,, play dirty right back..

Last.. don't sell to europe unless its a money order deal.. or have him send you the paypal payment as 'cash' or 'services', anything but a ebay auction or for merchandise of any kind.

Ive been lucky.. no probs with paypal.. but have heard of alot of people getting locked for B.S. aqusations..

or if you want to go easy.. just pay the auction and eat one.. thats part of selling.. its a tax right off anyway

This is a tough one. PayPal will only accept a complaint within 30 days. So waiting six weeks would not allow for a complaint.

You might want to consider using BidPay, it cost the buyer like $5 though but I don't think the payment can be reversed.

If he is unwilling to contact you thru email, it does sound like he is scamming it.

Is there a link to the auction?

A quick question? How good is Paypal about getting your money back from a dead-beat seller????? :?

Not good at all. If there is no money in the sellers account, they will say you are correct but they are unable to collect for you.

The best thing for security on the buyer part would be the use of a credit card, you could always do a charge back on it. PayPal won't like it and will try to get the money out of your bank account if you have one connected.
