Atarian-7 #1 Posted June 18, 2001 I've read about some of these being released at gaming expos. Some of them even have a box and instruction manual. The question is how do I get these games without going to the expos or paying exorbitant ebay prices?
Mountain King #2 Posted June 20, 2001 Well a good place to start is Hozer Video. He makes pretty much any game. As for some of the others you might have to check with the programmer. You can get Sword Fight and Sea Battle from the Blue Sky Rangers Web site.
fsuinnc #3 Posted June 21, 2001 Check out Qb http://www.taswegian.com/TwoHeaded/Atari2600/qb.html There was a special version available at PhillyClassic but the author is planning a deluxe edition for sale (according the site). Also Crazy Valet is may be available still http://home.tampabay.rr.com/bprescot/crazy...valet/index.htm If you like INTV games look at 4-tris http://www.primenet.com/~im14u2c/intv/4-tris-SE/ As for the Sword Fight and Sea Battle, they are supposed to be available from the intellivision folks but I ordered mine in Feb 2001 and have still received nothing. There last email to me was in mid April and only after I emailed them several times. Of course, HozerVideo is a great place to get anything. (if you like the graphic hacks might I suggest Console Wars, avail from Hozer Video) [email protected] [ 06-22-2001: Message edited by: fsuinnc ]

OK, Qb is my game (ie: I'm the author) so I thought I'd just confirm this and let everyone know what the plans are... There were 50 cartridges made for the PhillyClassic show, and they were sold out. Each cartridge was hand-numbered with a special label. To date, these are the only Qb cartridges which have been released, physical carts manufactured by Hozer, but the essence and spirit manufactured by yours-truly. In addition to these cartridges, there were three prototypes manufactured by individuals following the progress of Qb on the [stella] mailing list, during development. I signed these prototypes for those people. So, there are only 3 official protos of Qb. At some indeterminate time in the future, it is likely that I will be producing a special limited-edition super deluxe edition of the game - a true collector's edition. I am taking pre-orders for this on a first-come, first-served, no-money-down, obligation-free basis. Just 100 will be produced, and to make them attractive, it will include... * a special rewrite of the code just for this release * hand signed/numbered special label * floppy/CD with many in-progress versions, with full source code, and compilable * hardcopy listing of the final game code, extensively commented * colour box/manual After the 100 limited special etc., etc., units are gone, that's the end of that version - no more. But, for those not willing/wanting to part with your precious $$$ for that version can always wait for the (eventual) release of the game on cartridge by Hozer Video. These cartridges will be plain-vanilla - no special label/manual, but fairly inexpensive. I have asked Randy of Hozer NOT to produce any Qb cartridges for general sale until I have produced the limited edition/special deluxe version. If you can't wait, please make your own cartridge (I encourage it!) using the binaries available on the Qb home page, listed earlier. I will have much more incentive to finish Qb the final cut when I have a complete pre-order list; there are about 20 places open at the moment. Albert #5 Posted June 22, 2001 quoteAs for the Sword Fight and Sea Battle, they are supposed to be available from the intellivision folks but I ordered mine in Feb 2001 and have still received nothing. There last email to me was in mid April and only after I emailed them several times. Wow, I completely forgot I ordered these back in NOVEMBER and I still haven't received them! That's just ridiculous. I did receive an email from them several weeks (months?) ago giving me some position in their order queue, but I don't know what's really going on. ..Al
Mountain King #6 Posted June 22, 2001 I ordered my Sword Fight and Sea Battle back in August and didn't get them until like Febuary of this year. But I did get them. Almost gave up all hope that I would see them, but I finally got them. As for QB, how about an end label. It looks funny in a stack as a mystery game. Joel D. Park #7 Posted June 23, 2001 Hey! I got a QB from the Philly Show, is there any way I can get an End Label for it. I had to make my own end label and it sucks. How About it???
jahfish #8 Posted June 23, 2001 i recieved 17 hozer games this year, 1-2 auctions and a big trade with randy (i had one of his missing roms as complete game ) also i have crazy vallet. but i only got a regular label, although i was supposed to get a numbered one. dunno the politics for the distribution of the numbered one, i didn't get it... then i have thrust. and pesco and merlin walls from those french guys. funny that you have to turn the tv to play merlin. Qb! is allready reserved for me and i am sure to be on the list for Combat 2! plus my participation on the FLC#2 (Fancy Label Club no. 2) will make my 18 individual cart labels for classic games, all by well-known worldwide atari-collectors. i hope round #3 is gonna be even more international than this time. i wonder if anybody else has such an enthousiasm for selfmade games ... how many games do you have? jahfish #9 Posted June 23, 2001 if anybody has crazy vallet # 71, then let me know. that's the one i planned to get.

Those Qb owners who register on the forum on the Qb page (just jot a note about which cart # you own, and some comments about the game if you wish), and who aslo write to me and request an end-label will eventually receive on in the mail at no extra charge. Strangely, it's something that never occurred to me during production-planning. Also, it has come to my attention that not all purchasers received a manual. If you bought a Qb cart, you should also have a manual, so if that's missing let me know and I'll send you one. Cheers A
jahfish #11 Posted June 26, 2001 only a hundred Qbs? thank god i reserved my copy for most other new games, i can also recommand hozervideo. props to randy for doing a great job!
fsuinnc #12 Posted June 26, 2001 Just thought I would add this. I got Qb at the PhillyClassic (#. I have left Andrew a message so I am looking forward to an end label. It is a fantstic game. I guess it helps if you like puzzle type games but this one requires fast thinking and good reflexes. I hope there are more games coming from this guy! Also picked up Crazy Valet! at that show (forget what number). It is also a puzzle game. It is not really exciting and the graphics are kind of lacking (please don't be insulted, it is very playable and quite enjoyable). It is well worth the price (IMHO)if it encourages more games from the author. I know the 2600 it (reportedly) a bear to program and I want to support all those that make the effort. (I also got the INTV game 4-Tris (#1) at the show. It is an excellent tetris type game for the intellivision and I hear there is another game (moon patrol?) in the works from that guy.) I love collecting all the old stuff but getting new games for these old systems is one of the parts of this classic gaming I enjoy most. Thrust, TPS, Oystron, Edtris, I have (and love) them all. I even like some of the hacks (Hozer thrifting simulator).
Joel D. Park #13 Posted June 26, 2001 QB End Label. I just sent and email to get my end label and register my cart. I am the proud owner of QB number
