my newest purchase - did I do good?

I won an auction today for an Odyssey 2 system complete in the box. it has the removable controllers. it also comes with 12 games complete in the box. everything looks pretty nice too. the auction ended at 36.00.

good thing I remembered the shipping incident with the atari box mentioned here. I decided to see if the seller was going to place this into another box and found out that he was just going to ship it in the factory box. I caught him before it shipped and now he is going to find a box to place everything into. I am really glad I saw that thread.

Good call -- I would have been mighty angry if that'd happened.

 

FWIW I sold my boxed O2 system with about 20 games (16 boxed) for $60. My box was pretty ratty, though. Nice score on that one, especially since it's the detatchable variety -- I wish I had those. :-)

That's a great price for a starter lot. You did well for yourself and scored the system that is harder to find to boot. Which games did you end up getting with this lot?

one thing that crossed my mind - since he was going to ship this today in just the original box, my guess would be that he taped it shut. I don't want to ask him for fear of him trying to remove the tape if he did. now if he did how hard would it be to remove it with a hair dryer/heat gun?

It shouldn't be that hard. Regular packing tape can be removed pretty easily with a heat gun without damage to the box. Especially if it's the cheap stuff. :-)
