cryptik76 #2 Posted March 24, 2004 Cool, a version of I-Ninja for GBA is also on the horizon. It's a good game on the big consoles; I wonder how it will turn out for the GBA.

Avid Fan #4 Posted March 24, 2004 It will be cool to have Pac-Man World in my collection, having Pac-Man World 2 looks kinda weird without the original, but I dont have a Playstation, so this is great news. Its coming to America right?

JB #7 Posted March 25, 2004 R-Type 3 came out last week. It's supposed to be a good port, but shitty music and sound effects. The curse of the GBA. It's got quite limited osund capabilities to begin with, and peopel keep trying to force stuff it JUST CAN'T DO down it's throat.
GrizzLee #8 Posted March 25, 2004 Al right.... Damn it!!! I checked with 3 local gme stores aroud here. They all confirm that R*Type 3 was released last week, but non have recieved copies. So far I don't believe it is out yet. Prove me wrong... and then tell me where I can get my fix. I'm suffering from withdrawals. Must have R*Type on the go.... -Lee
raindog #9 Posted March 25, 2004 I don't see what's not native about Pac-Man Collection. If nothing else, Pac-Man Arrangement certainly doesn't appear to be an emulated version of anything.... Pac-Man World (actually, PMW2) isn't bad as far as working the dot gobbling conceit into a 3D platformer, but very few parts are really what I'd call "Pac-Man"... and knowing the way game designers treat GBA licensed properties, it'll end up being a sidescrolling platformer anyway
Cybergoth #10 Posted March 25, 2004 Hi there! I don't see what's not native about Pac-Man Collection. If nothing else, Pac-Man Arrangement certainly doesn't appear to be an emulated version of anything.... http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter...=N&game_id=8825 Well, with native I mean "GBA Space Invaders" like, that is a game written from scratch, using the GBA's capabilities as good as possible, yet doing a faithful game living up to the name and not attempts to mimic 20 years old arcades as good as possible. Such "originals" are nice and welcomed extras, but no actual buying reason for me... Pac-Man World (actually, PMW2) isn't bad as far as working the dot gobbling conceit into a 3D platformer, but very few parts are really what I'd call "Pac-Man"... and knowing the way game designers treat GBA licensed properties, it'll end up being a sidescrolling platformer anyway I still have some hope. The list doesn't say who's doing it, but there's companys out there like Digital Eclipse or Torus who really can do magic with such a license. You'd think nintendo would learn from their mistakes.

It's got quite limited osund capabilities to begin with, and peopel keep trying to force stuff it JUST CAN'T DO down it's throat. That's not really it...the developers said that they were given a very short development period, and all they had to work with for reference was an SNES emulator. No source code, just the game. Due to the lack of development time, they were forced to cut stuff like the opening animation, good music, and well, I've heard hit detection can be wonky as well. SS #22 Posted May 1, 2004 R-Type 3 came out last week. It's supposed to be a good port, but shitty music and sound effects. I bought it, and yes. The SNES version is vastly superior. I still haven't been able to find the SNES version at anywhere near a price that I want to pay for it ($10 or under). I seem to run across "Super R-Type" (which is not half as good) but rarely "R-Type 3".
