For $60 I would definitely say GRAB IT IMMEDIATELY, and then hump the guys leg.

That's a hell of a deal it seems to me for $60. MegaData isn't going to be happy about the copy of Thea Realm of Fighters being in there though.

That's the same setup that was listed on e-bay a while back and they cancelled the aucction because he can't "legally" sell those games. Make sure you're getting all of those items for $60. If memory serves the guy had a BIN on that lot of around $1000.00. I'm guessing he's not going to let something go that's worth that for $60. He sold a copy of Battlemorph on e-bay that turned out to be a CDR, so be careful...

It's probably just one demo of Thea Realm Fighters... I have around five different versions of the game. It was a HUGE project. I don't think people understand the extent of it's development. Go to talk.Atari-Explorer.com to find out what I have... and some hints as to what's happening with it now. I'm usre that if you do a search, you'll find the info there. I doubt this is more than a demo I already have, but if you get some source code to put it all together, let me know! It'd be nice to put all the development material I have into a completed game! I think everyone agrees on that point.

That's a 2MB alpine board. Having a 4MB Alpine would be nicer, but for $60, you're getting a steal for that alone. My recommendation is to do it... and let me know on TRF if it's anything more than a ROM.

AWE guys, bad news, someone emailed me and said that he bid on the same auction from the same guy a while back and got some copied flyers and a bumpersticker and a sorry copy of some video tape, and nothing more!!! He saw the same auction back up and wanted to warn everyone that bid that it was a scam, and to cancel our auctions, I didnt win, but the guy sent me an email offering me the same stuff and it looked to me like you got everything in the pictures but apparently it is just the way he words it, he worms his way out of it and screws people I dont know this for sure it is just what it seams to be, so I am not messing with him, sorry for the bad news, but good to find out now rather that later!!! Man, I guess if it seems to good to be true, it probably is!!

Looks like he's obviously trying to mislead

people, by spending so much time talking

about the Jaguar development system.

But just reading the first sentance of the

description, I think most buyers should be

able to understand:

"this auction is only for the jaguar game

flyers, official atari bumper sticker, and

video only......"

Is this the same guy who posted auctions for battlemorph (I think) with loads of pictures and text about soulsphere splashed all over the page and a tiny notice saying "this auction is for battlemorph only"?

Yup, beware of this seller guys.

This is the same guy that sold me a "copied" Hover Strike:Unconqured Lands, and I thought I was going to get a prototype game with it.

Bottom line: DO NOT BUY FROM THAT SELLER!!

read all the small print, he is only selling the flyers, video and

bumper stickers. the other stuff is not for sale just there to get

interest in the auction, look at all the bid retractions..

be warned!!!!!

Hey river, there is a jag alpine on ebay right now. The last time I looked it had no bids and was going for $85. That would be the way to go if you can get a stubbulated jag. I think it has another day or so to go. Its coming from the UK. Hope this helps.

Or, you could let a developer buy it. Why people insist on buying stuff 'because it's rare' and then locking it away under glass so nobody gets the chance to use it is beyond me

Can't agree with you guys more. There is no point to keep a bunch of alpines under glass without ever trying to run it and debug something with rdbjag. Especially if you consider dev console which is NTSC and has one additional cable which is the only difference with regular NTSC console (ok - there is a different rom too, but it's useless for non-coders).

Cheers,

can't help but agree. puttin' potential development at a disadvantage is the last thing one wants to do at this point. Hell, even many collectors loan out their alpines to developers.

On a side note, has anyone actually REPORTED this guy to eBay for misleading auctions? That might fix the problem.

I agree with you guys also, even though I was going to buy it I was going to find one of you guys to sell it to or loan it to so you could do your magic with it, rather than just drop it in a glass display case and let 10 people see it over a 10 year period, I would rather see someone do something with it and develop some new stuff or finish some old stuff!! :D

You can always try to learn coding on Jaguar - developing with alpine can be a lot of fun providing that you find the right combination of os and hardware. If you do something like that you would definitively not allow your alpine laying in glass case - it would stay connected to your TT/Falcon or PC for a long time :)

With regards that auction, I must say I'm surprised to see Tbird bidding. Without putting too fine a point on it, he does have quite a few Alpines already, for someone who claimed to be leaving Jag development :ponder:

I don't think he's "completely" left developing for the Jaguar..... ;)
