Prolines, Joypads or ??

I like them both but they have to be made from some of the cheapest parts available. I've gone through so many joypads and prosticks it makes me sick! Seriously, the TAC 2 joystick by Suncom, if you can get your hands on it, is easily the best! It'll never break! I think it's the only other joystick made specifically for the 7800 (two button support).

Any pictures of this? sku_u's "Controller Rarity Guide" seems to be down at the moment so I can't check if it's listed there. Thanks.

It's back up now. It looks like your average slick stick or anything else Suncom made back in the day. But looks can be decieving! The joystick isn't that rare, but the Atari 7800 version is! I seem to remember buying a C64 TAC 2 and the second button didn't want to work on my 7800.

I'm hoping somebody here can back me up on that last part. I owned a couple of TAC 2s and now I can't find them for the life of me.

I've never heard of a 7800 TAC2, I don't think one was ever made.

Personally, I never liked the Prolines because of the pain they cause me after 15 minutes, or the joypads because it is too easy for them to produce a diagonal direction output when I wasn't trying for diagonal. I decided I would fix the problem by making the ultimate Playstation control, which I do like, to classic gaming console adapter. That became very ambitious, so I have a lot more work to do and I don't know when I'll do it.

However, I did make a gizmo that gets Playstation controller input and provides 2600 and 7800 joystick output. That helped me get much further in Ninja Golf than I could with the joypads, and unlike with the Prolines I could play it twice or more in the same day!
