belty #1 Posted March 29, 2004 Does anyone know of any 2600 or Mame emulaters that run on a Playstation 1 or any methods that will enable this? If not Playstation 1 any other CD based consoles? Cheers Belty
Mr.FoodMonster #2 Posted March 29, 2004 I know the dreamcast is big on emulating consoles and mame and the such, search on these forums, or google, and you will find a lot of info.

Ze_ro #4 Posted March 30, 2004 If you want to emulate stuff using a console system, then the Dreamcast is definitely the system of choice. Lots of emulators are available (see DCEmulation), and you don't even have to mod the Dreamcast to do any of this. I hear the X-Box is also pretty good for emulators, what with the faster processor, and hard drive and all... although you have to mod the system to do anything. I have no X-Box though, so I have no good links to provide. Frankly, the PSX isn't terribly powerful, and it's tougher to program, so you won't find all that many good emulators on it. --Zero
Outlaw X #5 Posted March 30, 2004 Dreamcast definitely, espeacially when you can find stuff like this... http://www.ioffer.com/i/1600-Nintendo-NES-...-System-2432484
Ze_ro #6 Posted March 31, 2004 DO NOT PAY FOR THAT! NesterDC is completely free software which can be downloaded off the internet free of charge... and also, buying a disk with 1600 pirated roms on it is completely illegal. People like this are making a quick buck off of other people's hard work (ie, the emu authors) as well as pirating software. These people should be reported so that the auction site can take the auction down. Someone with an iOffer account, please report this to them! --Zero

Outlaw X #8 Posted April 1, 2004 Those people have been selling that stuff on Ioffer for like, a year or better. Getting Ioffer to do anything about it will be tough. I've got an Ioffer account, I turned in an underage kid without a credit card on there "selling" things left and right..but she actually didnt have anything, she was just posting pictures of it and requesting cash payments. Outlaw X #9 Posted April 1, 2004 woops..forgot my point. They never even wrote me back after I told them, and I wrote them like four times about it. I almost bought a non-existent Super NES for 25 bucks.
Max-T #10 Posted April 7, 2004 I highly concur with those recommending the Dreamcast for emulating older games. Even though I haven't DL'ed anything for the Sega for a couple years, I still have rather complete NES, Genesis, and SNES emus/ROM sets for the DC. In addition, a good friend of mine recently showed me DC discs that let you play MPEG or DiVX videos on the system. Pretty cool. I haven't caught up yet, but those are on my list. Best of luck! Rocko #11 Posted April 7, 2004 WHY DONT YOU JUST BUY THE DARN SYSTEM YOU ARE TRYING TO EMULATE? YOU CHEAP BASTARD! J/K No, the DC is GREAT for emulation, and there are some cool homebrews out there that are cool too. I had about 9 emulator (and rom) discs for the dc, and most of the roms I ran perfectly (a few didnt, but counting the roms I Had, that was a huge amount that did run). As for the psx, you have to mod it.
