Me - Stupid (my first soon to be eBay battle!)

Recommended Posts

I did something really freaking stupid. I bid on a GBA game from someone that turns out to be, is a pirater. I have yet to actually pay for the game (its only $15 inc. shipping) but I know that all his games are pirates.

Is there anything I can do? I really dont want to risk my 100% feedback in anyway, so just plain not paying isnt something I want to do. Can I report that he pirates, BEFORE I acually get the item, or do I have to pay, wait, then report it, and might not even get my money back, or what?

Cant beileve I did this :x

So because it comes from Singapore, you automatically think this is a pirate? :?

For only $15, I'd pay it and see what you get. Report him if you're not happy.

I'm looking at the feedback. There are a few negs and nuetrals, each one saying that it was pirated. Its possible the others are just too oblivoius to realize that its fake, or he only 'sometimes' ships fakes.

I also had the whole 'It IS only $15' thing, but wasnt sure if it was the best thing to do. Going to paypal him later today.

He may be correct actually, I have 'heard' theres a few pirate games in that neck of the woods.... :ponder:

You might think only the cd stuff like ps2 etc... but I 'may' have come across snide GB games out there........possibly.......perhaps...... :ponder:

Selling them as real would be cheeky, but if, say , you were told the score up front that wouldnt be so bad I think, if they were super cheap..... :| .......would it ??

Of course, if the seller mentioned that up-front his auctions would get the ol' yank.

I'd say pay for it, and if it isn't legit when you get it complain to eBay and neg the guy. Maybe they'll suspend his account if they review his other auctions and check his feedback.

I realised that, there was a hidden message in what I said somewhere........

Not singling you out, Mr. Food, but I'll never understand the reluctance about leaving deserved negative feedback because of some fear of retalitory negative feedback in return. Having perfect feedback isn't the "Be-All, End-All" meaning of life and it boggles my mind that anyone that is ripped off would allow it to happen without a response. Plus the fact that a deserved feedback posting (of any sort) allows others to make an informed decision on whether to purchase from a seller or not. Not leaving deserved feedback (of any sort) kinda defeats the entire feedback process and the purpose it serves.

Others may disagree with me and that's okay... but running across wacko's on eBay is a given fact and sooner or later if you play the eBay game, you're going to get an undeserved negative. Life will go on, despite it.

its only 15 bucks...take the chance...since you have no proof its a pirate, give the seller the benfit of the doubt. you might get something you actually love. Be glad its not something like 100 bucks :-)
