FarCry problems

Recommended Posts

I got FarCry today, spent the 30 min installing the thing. I play it for about 20 min, EVERYTHING set on 'Medium' settings. The game crashes, restarts the computer. I go through Ubisofts crazy list of solutions, and do everything. BTW, once everything is set on LOW it looks like hell. To be honest, one of the reasons I bought the damn game was because it was said to look REALLY good. The WORST thing on my computer is my Processer (1.8, it requires 1, reccomends 2). Other then that. I have a GeForce4 Ti 4600 (all drivers up to date) 1 gig of RAM.

Any help?

If I have to play this on LOW, then anyone want to buy a barely used copy of FarCry?

I too have a ti4600, but only 512 megs of ram and a 2400+ processor (2GHz) and it runs "ok" in medium detail. No crashes for me, but it does hit the hard drive an awful lot (my lack of ram) which causes lots of 1 second pauses.

I was playing the demo of this a while back on my GF4ti4200 and It never crashed or really ran in a way that I thought was unplayable. I only have a P4 1.6ghz (Running at 2.1ghz though...), and only 384mb ram of which some section of ram on my larger 256mb stick is bad. Otherwise...it seemed to run very well.

I had thought of picking it up in fact...

I looked through the FarCry offical forums, seems my problem is fairly common. Also, the demo worked on all these peoples computers just fine. Just wait for an offical fix I suppose.
