chrishicks #1 Posted April 4, 2004 would you say 14.50 is too high for this cart?

CPUWIZ #4 Posted April 4, 2004 It was Rudi's, it's PAL. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3087857280
chrishicks #5 Posted April 4, 2004 so did I do good or no? I saw it was listed as a 9 so I thought I would put in a bid. it's my first ever rarity.
CPUWIZ #6 Posted April 4, 2004 It's a 4 or a 5 at most in Germany though.
Rudolphy #7 Posted April 4, 2004 Hi Chris, ok, this was my auction, but I think 14.50 USD was ok, even for a PAL version. Why? For me its important, to possess the game regardless of the format. And even in Germany you have to pay for a single Great Escape cart about 10 - 20 EUR. I would rate it as a 7 in Germany. But its only my oppinion. Cheers RUDI
chrishicks #8 Posted April 4, 2004 I'm 100% satisfied with what I paid. I was kinda curious about what others think about the price. I was waiting to hear that someone either got a copy for like $1.00 or that someone paid like $80.00 for 1. since I have no really rare carts I will take anything I can get my hands on, $ permitting of course. Tempest #9 Posted April 4, 2004 Who owns NTSC versions of these games? Someone must. Tempest

Spirantho #11 Posted April 4, 2004 It's common in Europe. I'd say rarity 4 quite confidently, possibly 5, but definitely no higher than that. Heck, I've got one CIB (though that *is* hard to get).
Rudolphy #12 Posted April 4, 2004 @Spirantho. I cant agree with you. I collect ATARI 2600 cards for a long time. In this time I bought about 4.000 carts. Among these cards are for example 150 PAC MAN, a very common card but only 3 Great Escapes. In Germnay Great Escape is more rarer than MOTORODEO. So I think, its a rarity of 7. Today I bought my first ATARI BMX AIRMASTER. As long as I could remember, this was the second time ever, I saw this card on ebay.com.
Spirantho #13 Posted April 4, 2004 Hmm.. interesting. Certainly that's not what I've seen... I have two Great Escapes myself, I think (both from Germany) and I've certainly seen them a fair amount in German auctions. At the same time, I only have one Motorodeo which I bought on its own a while back.... though I buy few carts from France where Motorodeo is most common. I think that you're probably right in your judgement, though.. if you have 150 Pac-Man, then 3 Great Escapes sounds about right. While tallying up the carts for my PAL rarity list, I noticed that there's many many more Combat and Pac-man than any other cart, so I think if you see 1 Great Escape in 50 Pac-man then that would say rarity 5 or so to me. There's a very very big difference between rarity 1 and rarity 2 - at least in my opinion - in the PAL market, because there was no market crash in 1984 so the market wasn't flooded and people never bought the games en masse like they did in the States. BMX Airmaster TNT label I'd put at rarity 3 - it's very common in Australia - with the Atari label I'd imagine about rarity 6. All that's just my judgement of course....and eBay's a weird place for judging anything like that. One thing is certain though - the Bomb carts NTSC are much harder to find than PAL, and IMHO they just come up far too frequently PAL for me to justify it being more than a 5...
