+johnnywc #1 Posted April 5, 2004 Hello all, With the impending ship date of the CuttleCart2 approaching, I'm hoping there is some good news on the status of the S-Video upgrade to the 7800. Does anybody know the status of this project? I have the S-Video upgrade for the 2600 and the 5200, but something tells me the 7800 will be getting a workout in the near future... Thanks! +Mitch #2 Posted April 5, 2004 The last date I heard was late Summer. I guess it's just wait and see at this point. Mitch
Trip_Cannon #3 Posted April 5, 2004 There's already an RCA mod for the 7800 right? Is it a do-it-yourself mod or does somebody do this for you?
Max-T #4 Posted April 7, 2004 I have a 7800 modded for composite (RCA) video/audio. I got it off of eBay about six weeks ago. I can't be sure, since I didn't do the surgery, but the previous owner had put in a very small (probably less than two inches square) PCB which he said that he had hand-soldered. From the photo, it did look like a handmade board, but I know little of microelectronics, so I could be wrong. However, since eBay only lets you look back 30 days in their auctions now, I can't even pull up the record to show you the pic or give you the guy's name. Sorry, I tried. I don't remember coming across an S-Video chip for the ProSystem on the net yet, but I do know there already is one for the 2600. So I'm sure you'll be able to find one soon. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
GrizzLee #5 Posted April 7, 2004 I have Jay Tiltons S-Video mod on my site. It looks better than the Cybertech Video Mod I recently pruchased for the 2600 (no color bleeding) http://home.earthlink.net/~resqsoft/a7800_...0_video_mod.htm Please forgive the mess. I am in the process of re-doing my website. Good luck, -Lee
rogueleader #6 Posted April 9, 2004 However, since eBay only lets you look back 30 days in their auctions now, I can't even pull up the record to show you the pic or give you the guy's name. Actually if you still find the item number, which can be found in any e-mail about the transaction, on pay pal, in your feedback, and on your ebay invoice (I think), you can still find the auction. Auctions are stored in the system for 90 days and sometimes it seems to be more. If you find the item number cut and paste it into eBay's search field and click searc. It should take you straight to the auction
Max-T #7 Posted April 9, 2004 I apologize to all... I tried everything I could think of to get that ebay item number, but it looks like I had deleted my email inbox and saved folders since I got that item. If anyone really, really wants to know about the 7800 composite mod that I have, I can try to dig deeper, but since someone else already posted a method for S-Video extraction, I doubt you all would bother, But I'll do my best if anyone is really interested.
