Tikiphantom
I want to know if this game from parker bros. ever made it or was it lost to big crash? Has anybody ever see this game or is there a file on some other website of it? Tikiphantom
Nukey Shay
Again, many "coming soon" games were victims of the crash simply because the funds were not coming in from the previous efforts to cover the cost of producing the new titles. Many were just a screen or two, and had no operational program whatsoever. Many (including the recently-mentioned McDonald's game) didn't even have that. Tempest
Nope! It was never made. It's unknown if it got to prototype stage but there's a prototype box for it. I think there's a prototype somewhere but who knows for sure. Tempest
Scott Stilphen
The PB catalog had a detailed (real?) screen shot/picture, so a proto may exist.
ratfink
Definately not a real screenshot in the catalog. Looks like construction paper, a pair of scissors and some paste were involved in those pix. It woulda been cool though. Spider-Man is one of my favorite 2600 games.
Tikiphantom
Sadness, I was hoping there was a least a proto. Yes, spider-man is one of my favorite games too. Tikiphantom

When all you guys talk about this kind of stuff, It would be really cool if you included a scan or digital picture shot of the catalogue image or whatever you are talking about. There are a lot of threads that talk about rare product, images, ads, etc. Would be great if you could include link or picture with post, thanks
Nukey Shay
J2383-- The crash was the end result of too many companies producing for the same product. Nobody could possibly come out ahead when the market is flooded like that. Things got really bad when the public swore off wearing shoes forever and became a bird-like species... ...oops, maybe that was HitchHiker's Anyway, the market seems to do the best when there are two distinct areas for the public to focus on. That way, the two heavy-hitters keep shifting and innovating to keep ahead of the other one. Before games came along, it was Ford and Chevy. "FOMOCO!" "FONOGO!" (this is where rioting would start...in the morning, they'd clean up and start innovating again). berzerk-- http://www.tripoint.org/games/literature/c...er/fs/pbb-7.jpg "Feel the power of the Dark Si...I mean the Intellivision as you witness the total destruction of a planet!" -Darth Plimpton "Don't try to impress us with your tile-based sprites, Vader...I mean George. Your sad devotion to that 10-bit processor hasn't steered the public away from increased object flicker, or given you clairvoyance enough to realise that any real money an armchair quarterback can expect to make lies somewhere between cameos and beer commercials." -Anakin Alda "Don't let yourself be litigated as Henry Thomas did."
