are prices at ebay on an upward spiral for atari items?

it seems that in the last month or so atari stuff seems like its getting alot higher priced, or atleast on the stuff that I see anyway. when I bought my first ebay system I paid around 35.00 for a vader system and I think 16 games. I also purchased a 7800 system with around 18 games for 37.00. I don't see many auctions that end in this range anymore. don't get me wrong, there can be a great deal found but it just doesn't seem to come that often anymore it seems. what do you think?

 

it may be time to go back to my other collection that I have been neglecting for this time, DVDs. I have purchased over 1600 titles so far.

I think prices especially of games are down rather than up.

Prices may be going up but man look at how many "Rare" games are popping up now!!!!! Why I've seen 20 or 30 "Rare" Pac-man carts AND quite a few "extremely rare" Combats pop up in the last month alone!!!! Its a Collector's paradise!! And whats even better is that most people only charge $6.00 shipping....YOU try sending one cart unisured/non-priority for $6.00, its impossible!!!

Once the Summer lull hits, prices will begin to drop again, followed by a steady upward trend as the Fall hits moving towards Christmas. People tend to buy less indoor related activities during the Summer months.

I do my best eBay buying in the summer and right after Christmas when people have spent all their money I mostly buy music though, but the peaks and lulls are the same for every product.

Prices in the you knighted kingdom fluctuate throughout the year.

 

Autumn last year was particularly expensive, then after christmas they have been really cheap and I've been getting a lot more unusual stuff without other people noticing.

 

I suspect one reason for this is because Spirantho hasn't been outbidding me on stuff I want recently. Either he has started to take pity or his credit card company suddenly noticed he owed them thirty thousand pounds.
