Dolt #1 Posted April 12, 2004 This weekend was low on the Atari finds, but it was a good weekend nonetheless. I came across a half-wrapped in cellophane Dig Dug box and a 2600 Jr box, with everything except the hardware--ie, plastic bags and paperwork, but no system. The two boxes cost me a buck each--now I need to get a Jr. to go in it! While this doesn't seem much, it's the first Atari stuff I've found since December. On the other hand, this weekend, I found on my porch a box full of advance copies of my book! (See avatar at left). This was really exciting after working on it since last January. It'll start dribbling into stores over the next few weeks so if anyone wants to help me raise some Atari mad money, please feel free to buy a copy. (In all seriousness, you can find out what the book is about at my website, cliveco.com). And finally--the biggest find--I found out I'm gonna be a dad (OK, maybe there's no more Atari mad money ever again...) So, all in all, a very good weekend. Zeus #4 Posted April 12, 2004 I guess you will have a Jr. in a matter of time!!!! Congradulations pop to be! My baby Dave will be 1 year old in exactly 9 days. And yes, babies do tend to drain your Atari money.
ATARIPITBULL #5 Posted April 12, 2004 Congratulations on soon being a father!!!!!!! I have a 3 year old & a 1 year old and yes they eat up all your Atari money, but they are more than worth it, you will see. On top of being a father soon, now a published author, my are we getting a higher class of Atariage members around here.
Whisper #6 Posted April 12, 2004 Hmm all I found at a local big flea market was a Pro-line 7800 joystick, which at home turned out to be needing a revision badly. It doesn't respond well, but it doesn't seem too serious. Can't play with it in this state though. Also found a complete original Atari power adapter for the 4-switch woody at the same seller. Haven't tested it yet. Both cost me 1 Euro each so it wasn't a bad deal. I have yet to find a cartridge in the wild though. Congrats on the baby news! Whisper #8 Posted April 15, 2004 I just intercepted a box of games fom being sent to another branch of the game shop I work at during my internship. I spotted some nice games like Pitfall II, Gorf, Stargate and Ghostbusters. too bad Stargate and Ghostbusters were NTSC, so I didn't buy them. I do have Pitfall II (very nice label condition) and Gorf cartridge now though Pitfall II isn't extremely rare, but since it's such a popular title, it's pretty hard to come by. Not a bad find I think.
