Well, I did end up with a pirate... (wow, I got a refund!)

Recommended Posts

But, this was from a different auction. You may remember me making a topic that on a Megaman and Bass game (wich I have yet to recive) was going to be a pirated game. Well, I also bought the game Sonic Advance 2 from another seller (who, at the time, had NO negative feedback). Turns out it was pirated, AND the game wasnt even Sonic, it was Disney's Basketball. It also says 'Nintondo' on the back  So, I emailed the seller, but I doubt that that will do anything. Looks like I'm NEVER EVER EVER buying anything thats not coming from the US again. Bastards!

Hong Kong seller, that was a bit of an inevitability Im afraid mate.......

But I should point out that there are US sellers possibly selling pirate GBA games as well....... :ponder: ............ not all non - US sellers are bad, some of us are ok, honest ! :D

I still think that while its basically wrong to sell something as real when its clearly fake, if your told up front and its reflected in the price / or its an unreleased game then its not so bad..... ;)

Yes, people in the US can sell pirated games, but its a lot less likely, and something (more) can be done about it then someone halfway round the world.

Yeah but sometimes it's a US seller who's having the games shipped from HK or China or where ever. The item location will look fine, but the fine print in the auction tellls a different story. Just gotta be careful and make sure to read the whole thing.

Some of those GBA fakes are pretty good. I bought a fake Final Fantasy Tactics from a European seller, I don't think they knew either.

The packaging was great, and looked legit, the only thing that gave it away was the name on the back of the cart.

It said 'Nintondo' :D

Still, it worked flawlessly, completed the game with 60 hours on the clock. :D

The carts also SLIGHTLY stick out further then regular games as well as the whole Nintondo thing. Also, the back is a lot more defined, the normal carts have really small depressions when it turns into the slick plastic, while the pirates have large ones.

Wow, emailing the seller actually worked! I got a horrible engrish responce, but basically it said that he will give me a complete refund. So, I wonder what the hell im going to do with a a mislabeled pirate GBA cart?

Makes a neat conversation piece at the very least.

Yeah, I'm definatly showing it to a few friends for some laughs. I wonder what would happen if I ripped the label off and took it to EB saying I found it on the ground. Hm..... :D

They'd probably say, "Does the sign look like it says Electronec Bowtique?"
