32 in 1 Jr. - What's it worth?

Recommended Posts

I'm talking to a guy about buying a 32 in 1 system. I haven't seen it yet, but from his description it would appear to be like the one pictured here:

http://www.atariage.com/2600/consoles/32in1.jpg

Can anyone give me a ballpark estimate of what this might be worth?

Thanks,

Dunno but it looks like a pirate bootleg!

Might not even contain Atari games at all! (maybe will have atari games)

If it is a bootleg it probably wont be worth much but i couldn't really put

a price on it till i actually saw it sorry!

EDIT (notice how the biography says an unknown clone? that totally means it as a bootleg sorry!)

I'm sure I can get a list of the games it has in it. He also has a set of Slik Stik joysticks. Anyone know what these are worth?

Pff that's hard to put a price tag on! I'm sure it's quite rare as you don't see many of them around, but personally I prefer a product saying Atari on it in nice silver letters :P Of course this is a pirated console, just like the various Vader models with a zillion games built in. They are usually made from cheap materials. To me, anything over $10 would be too much, but that's just my personal opinion. This would be the kind of thing I would pick up when I found it at a flea market "just because it looks funny". It would only end up collecting dust in my collection somewhere.

Honestly how could the materials it's made of be any cheaper than the materials a real Jr is made of? A real one is junky enough. ;) ;)

If it were a real Jr. I'd just pass on it, but this one is unusual enough to make me think it might be a nifty addition to my collection. I just don't know what to offer him.

True, the chips aren't socketed on the Jr, but the case seems to be of good quality plastic. At least with my 2 Jr's. I'll shut up as I'm of much use here. My offer would probably be to give it to me and not throw it out with the garbage :P

The plasitc is actually what I was talking about. When I took my junior apart, I was taking a look inside the top of the case and I accidently broke it in two. No big deal since the board was going into another project anyway. Out of curiosity I picked up the larger of the two pieces and gave it a slight twist. It shattered into about five or six pieces. I couldn't belive how brittle the plastic was.

But now I'm hijacking my own thread! What should I offer this guy?

hunt around for the atari 128-1 built in, they are still found boxed here in australia and dont cost too much........... :)

Or you could try to find a TV-Boy although it only has 127 games in

and you cant get any more games it works on all televisions so there is

no need for signal problems!

Alternatively i suppose you could try to find the ultra rare MegaBoy which has

no built in games but has some special learning cartridges!

PS i dont really know the value of the bootleg you speak of but it's definatly

rare and some people actually DO collect pirate consoles so it depends on your

intrests or how much you are willing to spend on it!

I personally would not give much for it those :ahoy: Games things dont stay

in working order for too long at all! :)

So does anyone know what a reasonable offer on this system would be?

Also, how about those Slik Stik controllers? Are they worth getting and what should I offer on those?

Hey, I'm not an expert in clones but I would never say £25! That's an off-brand clone, or a pirated one. I wouldn't pay more than few bucks for those...

Still, mine are just guessings, based on the fact that I have zero interest in non-original stuff. Is it possible that nobody here collects clones? Nobody has a definite idea about the value of these things?

I collect clones - and I've got one of these clones already. However, my clone has 64 games in it, not 32. Mine came from Australia, BTW.

I'd pay about £10-15 for it, because they _are_ quite scarce and funky... but not rare by any means.

Here's the games on my version:

1. Space War

2. Crazy Golf

3. Skydivers hack?

4. Freeway with Rabbits

5. Slot Racers

6. Blackjack

7. Football

8. Checkers

9. Home Run

10. Bowling

11. Skydivers

12. Cosmic Swarm

13. Fishing Derby

14. Basketball

15. Outlaw

16. Surround

17. 3D Tic-Tac-Toe

18. Golf

19. Basic Math

20. Othello

21. Human Cannonball

22. Flag Capture

23. Space Jockey

24. Stampede

25. Tennis

26. SKiing

27. Freeway

28. Slot Machine

29. Air Sea Battle

30. Combat

31. Boxing

32. Dancing Plate

33. Combat

34. Frostbite

35. Commando Raid

36. Oink!

37. Soccer

38. Super Ferrari

39. Snail against Squirrel

40. Maze Craze

41. Ice Hockey

42. Space Raid

43. COndor Attack

44. Bi! Bi!

45. Sea Monster

46. Realsports Volleyball

47. Spider Fighter

48. Missile Control

49. River Raid Hack

50. River Raid Hack (snowy)

51. Meteor Defence

52. Donkey Kong

53. Superman

54. Space Robot

55. Infiltrate

56. Fast Food

57. Lock and Chase hack

58. Venture

59. Cosmic Ark

60. Strategy X

61. Cross Force

62. Room of Doom

63. Planet Patrol

64. Starmaster

If you ask me, he's mad if he'll say no... That's almost twice the price of an original JR on ebay (one sold today for 13$), and many users here would be glad to present you a 32 in 1 cart if you'd only pay the postage...

Well it's not the games I'm after. I probably have most of them in cart form anyway. I just think the pirate system with built in games is kind of neat. I have no interest at all in a regular junior, those things are only good as parts as far as I'm concerned.

Well, fine! The important thing is being aware af what we're doing, then... Who never spent crazy cash for hobbies like this, raise his hand! ;)

There is an NTSC 32 in 1??? I want one.

I would also like one of these 32/64 in a jr. for only $10-$20. That seems awful cheap to me.

Jeepnut it might have seemed awful cheap to him too since I haven't heard back from him since I made the $20 offer.
