looking for a boxed Lynx II system for a reasonable price...

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone knows where I could find a complete boxed system for a reasonable price? I am watching ebay but if I could just go to an online store and just buy one that would be even better.

Try B&C at this link: Lynx Items. They have reconditioned Lynx I & II's for $49.95. Plus you get a free game with it.

I've dealt with Bruce at B&C on many occasions and he has always sold quality products with fast shipping.

He's pretty pricey, tho. $10 for Chip's Challenge? You can get that new, sealed on eBay for about a buck and change, or a six-pack of different games for $8. Look up nate.gamers on eBay. He's always got tons.

So do you guys think I paid too much for a Lynx II with battery pack, ten new games (the same ten that are $5 each in the AA store) and an AC adapter for $85? It seemed like a great deal to me, but I didn't realize you could get these games and a Lynx even cheaper on Da Bay.

I'd say that was a wee bit on the pricey side for my tastes -- but then I'm a cheap bastard anyway. :-) For what it's worth I've gotten Lynx bundles for $30-40 on eBay -- usually a Lynx or Lynx II, a few games and carrying case. I picked up a battery pack and Lynx II pouch for $5 a (bought two of each at $10 total) and, of course, there are scads of sealed Lynx commons for $1-2 apiece. (Steel Talons, Chip's Challenge, Super Skweek, Cyberball, etc.) Only the more popular and/or rarer games (S.T.U.N. Runner, Hard Drivin', Gauntlet, Cali Games, etc.) tend to get expensive.

Oh well. I'm not going to be a hard-ass about it. I bought it from a friend who needed the money, and I'm enjoying the system a lot. Maybe I paid too much, but it's all good. :D

Hey, if it's worth it to you then you didn't pay too much. :-) FWIW, boxed Lynx systems seem to get megabucks for some reason. I've noticed like a $20-30 difference between loose and boxed Lynxes on eBay. It's incredible.
