Greg Zumwalt #1 Posted April 16, 2004 Well, its been a while since I posted this list, but as I see Cowering has been trying to update his dated tools, I thought it would be good to make available the current listings I have. If I am missing anything, please let me know and preferably, point me to where I can obtain it. Well, I was going to attatch a zipped text list (71Kb), but for some reason, the forum is refusing .zip, .cab., .gz and from what I can tell, all but graphic attatchments. Thus, I guess this is now a, why can't I attatch anything but graphics here post, even though I'm supposed to be able to do so? Once I figure this out, I'll make the list available. video game addict #2 Posted April 17, 2004 If your computer's setup to show the full file extension can't you just add a .jp to the end to trick this board? Of course there are free websites out there, you could upload somewhere else and link to it.

If it's just a list of the games you're missing, then it won't be very helpful. Whatever roms you're looking for, load up a good newsreader and check the alt.binaries.emulators.* heirarchy. If your computer's setup to show the full file extension can't you just add a .jp to the end to trick this board? I'm not entirely sure, but I'm guessing that it would try to render the file as an image, and fail miserably since the file is definitely not a jpeg file. It could end up crashing some (badly written) web browsers, so it's probably a bad idea. --Zero
Greg Zumwalt #4 Posted April 18, 2004 Well, I tried everything, and this forum will only let me post images The rename to .jpg idea was "bad". So, anyhow, for now, I'll post the file here: http://Welcome.to/SnailSoft/Atari/crc.zip BTW, this isn't a want list... this is a CRC database of all BIN files I have for the 2600. It usually contains a few hunderd more then the Good Tools. I am always seeking further bins, or at least their CRC, to add to the list.
Cootster #5 Posted April 18, 2004 That's all of them, except maybe current works in progress (unless those are the ones only labeled with a long string of hex?). And do any of your unknown protos resemble possible Porky's/Tax Avoiders "scam hacks"?
Greg Zumwalt #6 Posted April 18, 2004 Actually, I have 2 more that people have pointed me to already, so its not all As for the long HEX named and unknown ones... those are early sprite demos and the like, that shouldn't have gotton out, but at one time or another were made public. Most are not playable, but as they did get out, I feel should be listed. After all, if never working overdumps are listed, why not those?
