My coconuts cart came DOA

I am wondering what might be wrong with this cart that came in within a carts lot I bought.The contacts look shiny,I had to open the case top take a look,but everything seems just fine.I get black and white diagonal lines on the screen and no sound.If anyone has another advice other than rubbing alcohol and the eraser trick let me know.One other thing,the cart fits tight on the console slot too.

Tried it in a different console, perhaps? I've had that happen on occasion, where a cart wouldn't work (or wouldn't work well) in one unit but worked fine in another.

Nope,tested it in two consoles,still nothing.If someone has a working coconuts cart with a crappy label/broken case I'll gladly take it so I can switch the boards between them.

When you say you tested it in two consoles, were they 2 different type consoles (ie: 4-switch vs. Jr. vs. 6-switch, etc.).

 

I have a Space Jockey game that works fine in both my 4-switch consoles, but I get diagonal rolling lines on a black background with no sound on my Jr. console.

 

Just a thought......

I have Star Wars TAG for 2600 that refused to work as well. Even after I opened the cart (label was bad anyway) and saw no obvious sign of problem, the game just won't work. I've tried on the 6 sdwitch heavy, Darth Vader, long rainbow Jr, Gemini, and Coleco Expansion Module.

 

It's rare but the ROM do die.

You did leave it on for about 10 seconds? Coconuts starts with a black screen, I musta chucked them in the need-to-clean bin about a dozen times before I realized.

I had a Coconut's cart die on me too. No clue why. Maybe they made a bad run of them?
