Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone had any info on exactly how you can run a 2600 emulator on the x-box. I found a copy of Stella as well as Z26 for it. after I have these what do I do?

Mod or exploit it. Look for the post "Burning Xbox Games" In the modern gameing forum (its new, so it will be on the first page) that will tell you how to do all the stuff you need to. I am currently in the proscess of exploiting my box, I just need some equipment,

Chris,

In a nutshell, you are going to have to install a modchip in your Xbox. I would recommend the X-ecuter lite; I purchased mine here:

You might also want to replace the Xbox stock hard drive with another one. You can learn all about modding your Xbox from this Web site:

http://www.xbox-scene.com/

There are tons of Web sites that are related to playing old console video games on the Xbox. Here is just one of many:

http://www.emuxbox.com/

Hope that helps,

Tim

Although you can purchase so-called "solderless" mod chips, I haven't heard much good about them.

Essentially, unless you are pretty handy with the soldering iron, then I would recommend that you ask a friend who is a pro to install the chip for you. Disassembling the Xbox is a snap. On the other hand, the mod chip itself requires something like 10 wires to be soldered to the main circuit board; at least one of these wires is TINY. But someone who can solder really well should be able to finish the job in less than 15 minutes.

Check out the tutorials section on the Xbox-scene.com link I gave you. I learned just about everything I know about modding Xboxes from there.

I fint the 007 Auf hack the easiest method for an exploit or an on board mod flash, Providing you connect 2 sets of jumpers on the mobo which can be found online.

Now once you've got a new dash of you choice you'd want to FTP the emulator into f:emulators, This will require a crossover cable and a nic, Or a 2 patch cables and a hub. The one thing about emus is that they usually dont come with roms and you normally need to dump a dir callrd roms or rom into the unzipped emu.

Ive found recently that emus on the box are excellent
