are the Game Gear/Lynx II regoin free?

I was wondering if these 2 handhelds are regoin free or not. I see games listed on ebay from everywhere and I would really hate to spend $ on some games that I won't be able to use.

I haven't heard anything that says the Game Gear isnt' region free. If its internals are the same as a SMS, then it should play overseas games no problem.

All GGs are region free. There isn't a bios check that I am aware of and import GG games will play just fine on any region GG that I know of.

 

Lynx is the same way. I know because I have manage to get a few of the harder to find Lynx titles by getting them overseas for a tad cheaper than they would run me here in the States.
