A new ebay seller to watch out for!!!

Recommended Posts

This ebay seller: (sbell1983y2) is over charging for shipping on his items, then instead of shipping your auction in a box to protect them from being crushed, he just wrappes them up with a paper bag.

I am getting very sick and tired of people overcharging you big bucks and then on top of it, shipping your items in a way that can get them destroyed at the post office.

that once happened to me with some C64 tapes... they were smashed to bits... no bubble wrap just and evelope filled with broken plastic

and then he complained after I give him a bad rating, so I sent him an e-mail saying I would hunt him down and break his eye-socket with a chairleg

thats the last I heard from him

The same thing happened to me recently on a seller I got Arcade Golf + manual from, who charged me $6 for shipping. Admittedly he says it's a "$6 flat rate for as many of my games as you win" but that was the only one he had that I wanted (believe me I looked). I tried to tell him it would only cost $1.42 to send it to me, but he ignored my e-mail. Then he insisted upon a money order, and I balked because that would cost me another $1 on top of $6 shipping so I said either take a check or lower your shipping charge. He of course said a check would be fine. :x Long and short of it is I got the item but we all know how it arrived and how much it ACTUALLY cost to ship.

I can understand a little markup over shipping costs. Padded mailers aren't cheap. The problem I have, is a mark up and a brown paper envelope!! Im willing to pay the $$ for bubble wrap and padded mailers, but brown paper and envelopes make me mad. :x

I once bought a lot of 16 A8 carts, including one rare and one semi-rare. The lot was shipped in an A3 padded envelope. Neither of the carts I wanted had much of a label left.

The 7800 Tank Command I recently sold on eBay was originally mint, but it was shipped in a padded envelope (and probably stood upon by an airport worker). It was still OK, but I would have kept it if it had arrived in the condition it had been in before it was shipped.

A few years ago I was hit by an insane shipping charge: $20 for one CIB sega game that came in a bubble envelope with $1.40 in stamps. Fortunately that account was NARU'ed but still...

right along the same lines:

he was selling some Turbo Force (TurboGrafx/Duo mag) issues on eBay... didn't see the shipping charge till the auction was over - $7!!! After an especially venom-laden exchange I got him to knock it down to $3... bastard better ship priority or he's gettin killed.

I almost ended up sending a boxed SMS controller wrapped in a paper bag but I changed my mind and bought a proper box.

I have yet to get anything that was improperly wrapped with the exception of a 2600 cart in a videotape box. Are people that CHEAP?

The only negative feedback I have on ebay was when I flatly refused to pay an outrageous "handling" fee.
