MasterMotorola #1 Posted April 23, 2004 So I'm at my friend's house and we are editing our magazine on his ST because my TT's keyboard is broken. When we take a break, he asks "Is there an emulator so I can play 2600 games on the ST?" I've heard of 2600 and ST emulators for MacOS, Windows, Linux, etc. But his question stumped me as I've never heard of emulating Atari on Atari. Does such an emulator exist? Thanks, Steve

krupkaj #3 Posted April 24, 2004 I am thinkiing of port of Stella. It needs only SDL library, which we have at the moment. I am not sure how much power it will need, but maybe TT and Falcon can handle it.

AtariDude #5 Posted April 29, 2004 I remember that back in the day, the ST had an 8 bit emulator (I even bought it with the cable that allowed you to transfer atari diskettes from a real 8 bit drive) but I don't think a 2600 emulator was ever made. I am not sure if the stock ST model would have the necessary horse power to be able to pull off that emulation. best of luck
mrroman #6 Posted April 30, 2004 i think it should be possible to write 2600 emulator for ST. 2600 is much less complex than atari 800, and is slower. if people are writing emus in python, it shouldn't be hard to write it on ST.
