any know where you can buy these besides ebay? i just heard about them recently from lik-sang.com and it seems like an awesome concept but they are out of stock there and nothing ever seems to come back in stock on that site

If you absolutely MUST have a Game Axe, I would suggest checking with these guys:

Try looking for a "Game Theory Admiral" instead. They're styled like the "classic" GBA, and probably have a better screen on them. They used to be pretty common on eBay for around $50 for a while there.

You can get the Game Theory Admiral from www.ncsx.com

Be warned that you CANNOT use American NES carts on it, even with an adapter.

Didn't realize there was one specifically made for it.

NCSX is pretty positive that current adapters won't work for it...read their descriptions and updates.

I thought I saw somewhere that they were out. I'm also seeing several websites saying that they are able to play NES games with a standard adapter.

Haven't heard of anything, but then, the system is reasonably cheap ($58), so perhaps some NES/Famicom collector can buy one and give us a full report regarding compatibility.
