I bought a Xonox double ender from this seller and he is no longer a member on ebay. I actually accidently bid on this one and not the one I actually wanted too. he has a bunch of negs. this is the link to the item.

I sent him an email over a week ago and he told me that I would get it in a few days(sent 1st class mail).I sent him an another email and he deleted it without a response(he uses aol and I have a compuserve account so I can check this). if I file a complaint with paypal can I recieve a neg from him even though he is no longer a registered user?

If he is no longer registered, he can't neg you from his current account. Hopefully he actually has some money in his Paypal account. If not, you won't get anything back even if they do find in your favor. That's what happened to me a few months ago when I tried to retrieve funds from someone who defrauded a whole bunch of people then disappeared.

I would definitely give the PayPal process a try. The one time that I had to use it, they came thru for me to the tune of $70! :D

I was amazed. I got the standard email stating that they would contact the seller and determine if he could prove that he shipped the item. If not, they would try to recover the funds from his PayPal acct, but if he had no funds in the account.... etc, etc.

I figured that it was a lost cause and they would never get the cash out of him, but they did within 2 weeks! Don't know what the percentage is that they are able to recover the funds, but it doesn't cost you anything to try.

You need to do it soon, though. After 30 days they can't / won't do anything.

I filed the complaint about 5 min. ago. atleast I'll only be out a little over 7.00 but it's the principle that you should get what you pay for.

He probably won't have any money in his account, but at least you only lost $7. His PayPal account will be frozen until he gives you his money back. This means that eventually you might get your money back. I had some jerk try to rip me off for about $70 sometime ago. I filed a complaint with PayPal but I didn't get any money back until about 6 months later when he wanted to sell on eBay again and he had to pay me back in order for PayPal to let him use his account again.

I had an ebayer buyer recover funds from my paypal account about a year ago when I had no money in my paypal account...it left me in the negative and I had to restore my balance before I was able to use my paypal account again. So paypal sometimes does take money from accounts with no money...
