Chrono Trigger PSX remake questions

I finally put in the time to finish the remake of Chrono Trigger, so i could see the extra features added to this version. namely the animated clips. So i finally finish the game today, and now i have more questions than i do answers.

 

who is the baby wearing the pendant that Lucca finds in the woods at the very end of the clip?

 

what is the fall of gaurdia in 1005 all about?

 

 

are these events that cross over Chrono Trigger to Chrono Cross? I havent played CC yet, so if this is the case, a simple yes will suffice.

Yes there are links in Chrono Cross to Chrono Trigger but don't expect to be happy - yet more questions are raised by the time you finish that one.

i guess i have to play through CC next

It would take me far too long to chronicle each of the things that ties one game to the other, plus my memory is far too spotty for it to be accurate. There are any number of websites that do so though, and even the GameFaqs player's guides mention some.
