Sharky

Donkey Kong Country series

Recommended Posts

Hiya, :)

I been playing DKC and DKC2 lately and completed both of them without too much trouble. (SNES versions but using emulation)

But in DK3, im stuck! In the level Squeals on Wheels theres a ledge or something i think im suppose to jump on, but its just too high, its got me beaten, very confusing level, and another question,

I heard tips that Kiddy Kong (i think thats his name), and break through floors by by Dixie throwing, what sort of floors.. ?

:?

Diddy Kong. :D

I haven't played the DK Country games in a long time, didn't finish them when I did... they didn't really keep my interests. I guess I just don't care about Donkey Kong unless he's dropping banana peels in front of my kart. :P

GameFAQS.com for all your needs, though.

Diddy Kong.

If you're supposedly correcting Sharky, Sharky was right. DKC 3 has Kiddy Kong and Dixie Kong.

As for that level, how far into it is it? Is it before or after the Halfway Barrel? Either way, if it's a ledge too high, it's not meant to be gotten to. It's not that hard of a game. If it's a ledge you need to get to, then the way to get to it is to use one of the wheels. If there is none, skip that ledge. It is not the one you want.

Tell me what kinds of "Landmarks" are near it. Any banana formations? What other stuff did you pass before getting there? How full is the meter on the wall when you get there? Any ropes? Let me know and I'll try the level.

Edit: To add..

The point of the level is to work your way all the way to the top where you find an UNLOCKED/UNCHAINED door in the floor and jump on it to fall through. At which point, you'll fall all the way to the bottom through all the locked doors and the door at the beginning by the elevator that was closed, will now be open. That's what your friend meant by "Through the floor". But I know of no way to go through without going all the way to the top.

I just played all the way through without any unreachable ledges. Turn around and try another way, you apparently went the wrong way.

To @Jasoco,

As you can see the ledge and the wheel where I trying to get too above is way too high, where ive been trying to get too.

To the to SW off this screen where im stuck is the Bonus Level. But theres a dead-end when I go that way, so I when the other way up the rope and as you can that ledge is way too high!

Also what does this Green/Red meter suppose to mean, also been trying to smash the locked floor by throwing Kiddy on it, but its not working, its got me stumped!.. Im going crazy at this point.

:?.. The levels before were easy, but awful level has got me stuck for days!

:(

EDIT: Oh yeah theres a Garage roller door just to the righ (not on screenshot), but no way to open it.

HAHA!

I know what you did wrong. :D

First things first. The Meter is how many Rats are left. According to that meter on your screen, you MISSED two. Notice the door is still locked? You have to KILL THE RATS to unlock the doors. :) When the meter is empty, the door opens and a new set of Rats starts.

ALSO, there is no ledge up there. I am exactly where you are right now. No ledge. It is the ceiling and wall. No ledge. Forget it. No ledge. Just start walking back through the level and find the two you missed. Maybe more. But by my calculations, you missed two. Go find them and all will be solved. And don't worry, that is the only level you'll have to do with the rats.

Go on! Tell me how you do. 8)

Ha-ah! Thanks Jasaco!.. I just got passed that point! I actually missed 3 rats, I didnt know you were suppose to kill them all.

You were right there was no ledge afterall, just wall and ceiling.

I should be albe to finish this now!... 8)

It teaches me for not exploring the levels property.

You're welcome. Just don't give up. There are more difficult parts in this game. The Spider Boss at the end of the world for one.

After you beat the Spider, though, you get to choose from two places to go. (After getting an upgraded boat from Funky. Don't forget that. Make sure you go to Funky.)

Cotton Top Cove is a water world mostly. Some of the levels are frustrating, but keep trying.

Mekanos is really cool Industrial-like. A factory place with a lot of the best music. I love the Factory music in Fire-Ball Frenzy. Low-G Labyrinth is really fun in that you can jump REAL high.. just watch out for Bees.

I don't suggest one over the other. Try both out. I think you have to beat both to advance. I forget.

Thanks for those tips, not looking forward to this Spider Boss which you say which is around the corner, I also had problems with that giant barrel, didnt reliease you were suppose to pick up the bugs and throw them in his mouth.

I must its admit its not as good as DK2, maybe its the music that irriates me or is it Kiddy, or do i miss Diddy or Rambi.

Cant wait to get too Mekanos or Fire-Ball Frenzy as you say got the best music. :D

I've been into these lately. Just finished DKC 1 the other day and rolled right into part 2.

Have a question though - did I miss something in the story line? The end of part 1 is the same location as the beginning of part 2 right - the Kremling ship? So how did DK suddenly get kidnapped and where did Dixie come from? Still fun, but confusing..

The one underwater with the Swordfish buddy? Or the one above water at the falls with the Elephant?

If it's the Stordfish one (The spiky enemy under weater) you need to knock her babies into her (Using your charge up attack) and make her open up. Then charge into her middle section to hurt her. There's like three stages. Each one more difficult. Damn I hated that one.

The one with the elephant is easier. Use the water (Suck it up with your trunk) and spit it into the eyes. One at a time. And when she squirts in a circle, stay ahead of the stream by jumping around like a clock from one platform to the other in the direction she is spitting. Three stages I believe.

Both are hard, but the Elephant one is easier. I hate that other one.

Damn. That's a really tough one. I'd say it's more frustrating than the final boss.

Are you at a point you HAVE to beat this boss? Or can you go somewhere else and play some levels first? Because it'll take a lot of practice on this one. If it's emulated, remember to freeze and defrost a lot. I find that helps with mistakes. (I beat Smithy in SM RPG that way.)

I'm sure I do. I finished that area except for knocking that boss off. been stuck there since last playing it months ago. Never quite beat any the others, I think...
